Nobody understands the reason behind Jeffs post. Very disappointed!

Hey, I did! Once again I'm straight up ignored. :(

Warzone is like most games, too many mouths and not enough to go around. I offer a solution, eliminate half, and warzone will prosper.

You can start with yourself.

The thing is, when better players leave, say level 40+ and new players join, the new players aren't as good, or even good yet. The Warzone Community is getting more people while the Warzone Community above 30 levels + is losing people. Meanwhile, the Warzone Community below 30 levels is gaining people. It's gonna take a while for the 30 levels - to get to 50 levels +. So that means Warzone is losing good players and gaining noob players. In a way that's good, in a different way that's bad.
I hope I didn't corrupt your minds so now you don't have any knowledge left for games. :)

It just goes to show, to most people everything is a fad; they come stay a bit, then go and forget about it. Why can't people just stick to what they like instead of going with whatever's new? New doesn't mean better.

I think its possible to send the same post multiple times if you hit the send button too quickly.

I'm not sure I agree with the specific mechanics, but this is definitely a thing. I've been through this with smaller games, in the past. Many high tier players left (for varying reasons I won't get into), at a faster rate than others improved. The net result was that the top levels became less competitive. The opposite can happen as well. If games keep growing/keep their playerbase actively engaged, the skill floor at both the competitive and casual player bases grows. League of Legends and Fortnite are the best examples of this.

I get the impression that WarZone has had a lot of high skill players retire. I don't think that many have replaced them. This is different from "WarZone is dying!", because its exclusively at the upper levels, while game activity is dependent on the casuals. I think its hard to measure the latter. Compared to what I remember from years ago, WarLight has more multiday games going but fewer open RT games. I think it would be easier to determine if I found numbers on QuickMatch activity - that's obviously a big factor.

That being said, I don't think I've ever seen a developer who wanted to share player retention/activity numbers on an ongoing basis. Only as a brief shot of good news. So there's no point in bugging Fizzer about this stuff. He doesn't appear to be panicking, and he's not pandering, so its all good in my books.

@Goodgame - chillax bro. They're riffing off of the Avengers. It sort of fits with Jefferspin goofing around too, tbh. I'd be annoyed if they were spamming an actual discussion, but then so are most of the active readers, and their posts get hidden. Here it's all good brother. xD

Frozen Koala elaborated on our point from earlier which I think is an empirically verified argument. So as annoying as it may be to read about people whining about the game 'declining' their concerns whether exaggerated or not still hold some ground as they're not complaining for no reason - they see what they perceive to be a problem and they wish for this problem to be addressed. It's simply wishful thinking to expect some miraculous changes to unfold so it may be more productive to look at the positives while accepting the negatives.

My observations over the years up to now

Ladders: Still competitive, with many good players on 1v1 ladder and 2v2 ladder. 3v3 ladder feels like it's been on an insidious decline for a while now with only a few decent teams currently ranked. I worry 3v3 ladder will die out in a few years the way RTL did but maybe it won't.

Real Time Open Games: We've gone through this many times and I feel the more I mention it the more people will feel like punching me but open games isn't doing so hot. I've been opening games on a near daily basis for years now and even RoR doesn't fill the way it used to.

Clans: I don't think much has changed in terms of clan activity. Clans help bring the community together and there are many active clans to choose from. :P

QM: Quickmatch is still a relatively new feature and it seems to be doing well, one of the positives for this game definitely!

Forums: Forum activity doesn't seem to have changed much so I don't see how forum is dying?? Quite a weird thing to complain about I guess.

I think that qm is stealing from rt strat, and people prefer multiday diplos for obvious reasons.
