Clan League 11: Template Voting: 1/18/2019 22:58:24

Oo I did not realize that could be read two ways. Good question.

Assuming I vote 2, 3, 1.
Does that mean my favorite template is Gurioma, because its number is first in the list or does it mean that Cookies is my favorite template, because the "1" (favorite) vote is at the 3rd place?

Your favorite in this example is Cookies, since the '1' vote is at the 3rd place.

Maybe it would be easier to use letters instead of numbers in your explanation for the maps - so it would be 100% clear.
But I guess everyone got it after the last example.

Yeah it's a bit confusing. Turns out I read it the wrong way.

The votes will be public as always, right? It would be nice to have like 2-3 days between votes being public and the templates being chosen, to spot errors. I bet that many will be made, even after TBest's last post.

I was pretty convinced by the 'wrong way' before I read the last posts, I can guarantee you that some clan will make this incorrectly if we don't modify. Alternatively, you could add this explanation to the initial post where you explain the voting?

I think the 'wrong' way is the method that is the most sensical.
It makes just more sense (at least to me) to list them the order in which you want them:
i.e.
3v3 templates:
1. India
2.RoR
3. Europe
4.Biomes

That should easily make sense to the administrators that I prefer India as my first pick, then RoR, then Europe and then Biomes.

There is also less chance of mistakes this way and less ambiguity, and thus less potential headaches.

(I understand the other way round is easier to administrate, just saying it might get confusing (as evidenced above) to people)

Or put it in a google sheet with all templates and have clan leaders assign their rank there. Then there is no confusion. Just give each leader their own sheet so they can't see each others ranks

Votes will be public after the deadline, yep. The plan was for me to get the votes calculated right after said deadline so that they would be ready for a live-stream that weekend. Through, I could give some time for in which I reserve the right to correct mistakes.

I will make the post I made more clear.

@Reza, Chirs. Unfortunately those two methods takes so much time that I don't consider it an option tbh. Furthermore, the more editing I do, the higher risk of mistakes being done. Should be copy-paste able to help both those points.

Final Earth 2v2 does not have a sample game - is this the 2v2 ladder template?

I think MHunters should vote first, and send that to a 3rd party (someone not in division A). That is how I did it with my vote. So that you know I am not altering my vote after seeing everyone else vote.

Not saying you would, but it would be pretty easy to get a template in/out that was close if you already know the totals before you vote.

I actually think my map is fantastic BTW (no bias!)

Not sure I have any great templates on it yet, but that doesn't make the map bad.

That is a good point. I don't decide stuff like this for MH and some clans have already voted, however I will see if I can coordinate something and let Audit get a hold of the MH vote as soon as possible.

Audit panel members are in A.

Using a time-stamped and/or password protected environment where access is granted after the deadline could do the job could do the job.

When TBest said he alreay received votes, then sending our votes to a 3rd party now would really make no difference because that wouldn't prevent him from potentially telling us (the MH contacts) the votes of the other clans.
Guess that you have to trust TBest in this case.

In order to push a certain template over the required threshold without hampering the chances of a template we want more, we would probably have to have almost all votes. From the perspective of REWARD/(RISK X EFFORT), we'd rather pass on this cheating opportunity.

Since you guys take this kinda seriously, let just M'Hunter calculate a hash value from the mail we are sending to TBest and then post the hash to the public forums. This is the first link I found online: https://hashgenerator.de/. Then after the voting is over, we can post the mail in the forums and you guys can check whether the hashes match.

Personally I see no reason to give TBest and MH to go through that hassle. You either trust TBest to run the league or you don't.
