Its a 10 day boot time game, and he said hes going to (waste his time) to take the full 10 days to commit each turn presumably becuase we teamed against him in this FFA. This is surely a pisstake.

By all means block them but reporting them for it is pointless, warzone is "play at your own pace".

I find it peculiar, that the report menu actually has way more options, which explain to you why you can't report a player, than those, which actually may be used to submit a report.

It's to explain to you why you cannot report players for the reasons for which people commonly would want to report players but which are not valid reasons. Saves work, I imagine.

Sadly some still just select "Other" and report it anyways....

don't agree to the length of the game if you don't want to play that length. yes someone saying they'll purposefully wait is annoying but you agreed to the time frame when joining so shouldn't matter.

If you think stalling out of spite is annoying you should see the players who stall on the 1v1 ladder for a better rank xD

- I'm keep hearing this same line from people don't know much about diplo games. Everyone has their own preferences but in order for 40 player, play the same game, all players has to more or less have to sacrifice their preferences in order to play a game together.

- So no, your advice basically says to stop playing diplo games (this doesn't effect RT since they don't last for months anyway). You don't solve problems by discouraging players from playing. Unfortunately, there is not much Girkel can do. If you are already winning the game, let him do his thing and enjoy destroying all of his territories one by one, kill him slowly, kill him painfully :)

That's a confusing comment, @Veravari, I don't really understand in what way what bliss machine said relates in any way to diplos. Did you mean that sometimes, people in diplos don't boot automatically and extend the boot timer? that'd be a different situation entirely though. From what I understand, he's just saying that you can't be booted before the boot timer runs out, and to avoid that, you shouldn't join games with a timer this long, which seems like very straightforward advice. I don't see how you are responding to it at all, you seem to be getting entirely off-track here.

@vera you are misinterpreting this. they were referring to a CLASSIC game.

That said, I do support that if you can't keep up with the boot timer DONT PLAY THE DIPLO. (There are sometimes some valid exceptions, obviously. Like an ally refusing to respond or negotiations being severely delayed for whatever reason, I've had an "ally" refuse to respond to a request for a loan to fight a war) I've had that situation before. Even if you're at war with the player. They couldn't keep up with the boot timer, too bad for them you get all their stuff, or something depending on the rules. But host booting rule is ofc better, since it is necessary to be neutral.

(Which is why I don't like diplos, but that's too far off topic liao lol)

people in diplos don't boot automatically and extend the boot timer?

Yeah diplos turn off autoboot.
And as for classic, yeah delaying is bad, blocklist and just whenever the turn moves, play it. If it delays anyhting, it can't be your fault, so don't worry.

Thank you, exactly. I dont know why he said I chose to play a game that was 10 days long. I chose to play a game, that's it. I think most of us would expect decency in a game and that if you are losing, you wouldn't purposely stall. Fizzer should really find a way to stop these people from ruining Warzone for others, its not helping him build a bigger player base at all.

And its not a diplo guys its a tournament.

Nah. As soon as he begins punishing that, he (or rather, the mods) would have to make a judgment in every single case this is reported. Would lead to endless debates whether someone stalled vs when they did not stall. Another side of it is that @bliss machine is technically right. Sure, you don't expect people to stall out of spite, nor should they, but it is technically within the rules since you have joined a game which has the kind of boot timer it does. I sympathize with you, but I don't think there's any way that this could feasibly be made into a rule.

Question, had he not said that, and took 9 days, 23 hours, would you still feel that way?

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you check Game Settings before joining.

"Thank you, exactly. I dont know why he said I chose to play a game that was 10 days long. I chose to play a game, that's it."

When you join a game with a boot timer of 10 days you agree that you are willing to wait 10 days for the turn to advance.
If you are unable or unwilling to wait 10 days for the turn to advance, join a faster game. Thats on you simple as that.

"I think most of us would expect decency in a game and that if you are losing, you wouldn't purposely stall."

If you go into games with that expectations you set yourself up for a bad time.
Ultimately you can only take steps to lessen the chance of people being ass's. Like being nice and not swearing.

"Fizzer should really find a way to stop these people from ruining Warzone for others, its not helping him build a bigger player base at all."""

.... You kidding right?
You can literally make all kinds of game lengths from as fast a 1minute per turn to as slow as idk (100 days per turn?)
You literally have all the control necessary to prevent people from stalling.
Yet you are still flaming in the forums and just pushing the blame onto others even tho you have all the control to prevent this from the first place.

I love how you are blaming me when I'm making a valid complaint. All I said was I wish there was a way to stop this kind of behaviour and you just say I borderline asked for it? You are so weird. Don't tell me you look at a game that's 10 days long and think "hmm, this is perfect!".

I didn't ask you to reply Roi don't act like im flaming here. I'm just venting, and I have all rights to do so. Just as he does stalling.
