HI CL managers, sorry if it's not the place but I wasn't sure where to post it... I was wondering why the 15 days banked format is still a thing. If I'm not mistaking it was supposed to solve stalling issues but if you do the maths (as every Warzoner should be able to), you should realize very quickly that it encourages stalling way more than preventing it. Thanks for telling me if I'm missing anything

The overall duration of a CL is prolonged more by having vacations allowed. Because you can chain those, a single person can stall the end of a Clan League by a lot, whereas with this system, most people just run out of banked time in a few weeks and have to play. The intention of the 15 days is so that people can take a vacation, but it's theirs to use, if they should choose to use it to spend more time on picks, that's fair game too.

The thing is we made this adjustment for stalling Clan League as a whole less, meaning that most games will end around the same time as people simply run out of banked time, and there isn't 1-2 games going on for ages longer; not for stalling any specific game less. That means a singular game might take a while longer sometimes, because people have more time to think yes. But it is still the better alternative.

I short you can say it is allowed to use ca. 5-8days multiple times for turns in a game (maximum 1x 18d without progress).
But the possibility is eliminated to use up to 73days without progression for 1 turn.

You're probably right about this point, but I'm feeling people could also way more easily stall games if you allow 15 free days banked, which end up being 15x6=90 free days banked per player per template ; compared to 50-70 days max that players have to spend on their own yearly vacations

I ended up with lots of games where at least 1 player used all their 15 days banked without having to worry about anything while they probably wouldn't have wasted vacations the same way. Don't forget that vacations are rather 5-7 activations per year than 50-70 real free days. And I'm guessing many players would feel comfortable with taking 3 days 12 every turn with 15 days banked, so that doesn't sound better than being limited to 2 days 23 with 5-7 yearly opportunities to take more time

If you want to avoid one game to stall the entire league, wouldn't it be more efficient to restore the old system and just add a rule saying for example that someone taking more than X days of vacation on a single game would be banned from next season ? Or even that exceeding X days of vacations would also mean you lose the game in question and take penalties... It's quite easy to make rules preventing anyone from stalling with vacations ! Btw would be quite interesting to have datas that could really show if CL lasts shorter with the new or old system, if anyone here could gather the info :)

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you are implying that each player gets 90 days bank per template to use however they wish. I think this is where your reasoning falls down - each player can only delay a game by no more than 15 days. So while before a single player could delay a game (and in fact all games, because vacations affect all games) by 50-70 days, now they can only delay any game by up to 15 days.

Indeed the limit is 15 days for one game, but you can do it for each of your games so if you play a whole tournament you get 6x15 days, that's my point. If you only want to focus on the fact that one could stall the last game of the season for X time, another simple issue to me is that no matter banks or vacations, one could always stall it forever by taking 3 days to play 30ish turns for example...

Three times 70 days of vacations per player equals 210 days of stalling, at which point you might even get new vacations because the new year starts. If you take it to the extremes and want to stall intentionally as a clan, six members could stall CL forever (before we disqualify them obviously). The 15-day bank rule ensures this doesn't happen.

The thing is that we have a schedule at which point games are added, so stalling any specific game will not stall the duration of the league as a whole. And it's as Farah says, the limit of stalling here is about 3 months, which, granted, is long; but only happens if both sides of the game use all their banked time individually while the rest commits on time. On the other hand, the limit of chaining vacations with all the players in a game, would theoretically be over a year. In one single game, 6 players can all individually chain vacations, giving a limit of 420 days for a 3v3, 6*70 days.

All these things are hypothetical, ofcourse. But the fact remains vacations are a bigger risk to the League as a whole.

And yeah, one player can stall 15 days in every game, but he'll just end up with a lot of games, the duration of the League won't be much affected, as there's already 15 days between game creations for 3v3's. So stalling game 1 just gets you to the point where you get game 2, only the last game will affect the theoretical duration of the league, and not by a lot, only half a month, which is very acceptable.
