As announced before, Cowboy has resigned as the organizer for the coming season(s) of Clan League. I have offered to take over the organizing, and Cowboy has agreed to let me handle the organisation of Clan League. I did, however, state some changes to make organizing the league doable again. These are effective immediately, and are subject to change as they are but a start as of this moment.

1) Clan League is reverted back to a dictatorship. Every decision made is ultimately made by the organizer.
Let's start by saying the past season of Clan League was one of the, if not the greatest seasons of Clan League. However, voting progresses, panel discussions and decisions have made it a drag for the organizer. To make the organization of this league doable, all decisions will be made by the organizer. I will take advice, of course. I will also look at arguments and reserve the right to change a decision if I feel the arguments presented satisfy the burden to change a decision.

2) The Clan League Panel keeps its existence. Their job will be to help with the orginization.
This includes, but is not limited to helping out with spreadsheets, scorekeeping and other tasks. They can be replaced if they fail to do so, as they're there to lighten the work put on the organizer. Anyone can apply to be on this panel. I will not care about having a certain amount of people from a certain clan or division in it, as the panel should refrain itself from any 'political' discussion about Clan League.

3) All other panels are abolished
All the panels have done a splendid job in the past seasons. However, it has been hindering productivity. Voting processes and decision making by the Ethics Panel have been good, but have taken very long, for example. We want to create a league where we can move on with it, without the need of Kafkaesque bureaucracy.

4) All complaints go to the organizer
If you have a complaint, albeit about the Clan League Panel, the organizer, another clan or another player: complaints go to me. The Clan League Panel is not to blame for any decisions. I take full responsibility.

If you disagree with any of the above points, feel free to address them here. I will of course take all arguments to mind. Hence the right to change said changes.

Can't speak for the current season, but when I was running CL my experience was the opposite of this. They significantly eased my workload and quite frankly made better reasoned decisions then I ever would have ended up doing. Granted, there was a lot of previous drama that needed to be looked into and past chat logs/ evidence that needed to be dug out.

Now, obviously things have changed and circumstances are no longer the same. (For example, I can see that the need for a 5 player ethics panel might no longer be present). I would encourage you to keep Audit, since the overhead from that is minimal (eg. they just observe the template voting prosess, to catch errors). In my experience the delays in CL were almost entirely due to the slow turnaround speed of some clans and the response time they have.

That being said, I know too well what task you have just started to undertake and I sincerely hope that you manage your time well. It's unfortunate that CL have had so many structural changes over very few seasons and it's clear to everyone that this is something to watch out for. I will leave you with two tips. First, outsource any and all work you can. Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, be much stricter with clans and deadlines then what has been done in the past (at least more then I was).

The Audit Panel isn't meant to observe the template voting progress, and there likely will not be a template voting progress by the clans. It will be done by the Clan League Panel. The point is to eliminate all those delays and get the league on with. Hence, all complaints can go to me, not to the Clan League Panel, then to the Ethics Panel, then to the Audit Panel, then back to me after three months.

Time to create a competing Panel League that is nothing but panels and drama (and no actual gameplay). It'll be like WWE-tier roleplay where the Warzone is all pretend but the drama is what we're there for.

One of the main reasons to create the ethics and audit panel was to take the organizer out of any or at least the main drama. Although not perfect, i hope that worked out fine and there were other reasons for the previous organizers to step down. If there is any help needed regarding our past work or any interest in reading through our decision making process, you can contact me whenever needed.

Otherwise i want to thank my colleagues from the ethics panel. Working in the panel wasn't always the easiest task. Simply due to the things we had to deal with, but i did enjoy working with all of the members.

I wish Farah good luck in leading CL. I hope you have strong nerves and are able to deal with the things that come with it. Hopefully you were able to learn a few things from the past, that will help you doing a good job as the new organizer.

You could just make the identity of the organizer secret and hide everything behind panels if you want to insulate the organizer from mentally exhausting drama. A faceless "Clan League Admin" account that only the panel knows the identity of.

I have a question.
We have Elitist Africa as a template for clan league.

Which map we will be using?
Old version (from example game link):

We (our clan) would like to use the new one.
Reason:
- There is a common problem to make a distinction between colors on the old one.
After trainings many players complain about it.
Plus I remember I had problem with that when I played on this map at the beginning.
So using a new one would make easier for player to get to know this template and eliminate number of mistakes.

Old version @lineal. That's the template that was proposed and voted on.

But new version was (and still is) in the template link.
So it was kind of proposed too.

I haven't looked too closely at the maps, but isn't the only difference cosmetic (i.e., the appearance), with Elitist Africa 3.0 strictly easier to parse than the old map? The bonuses seem identical although with 3.0 you can click on the categories and not have to figure out bonus types based on your ability to distinguish between thin lines of various shades of the same color.

If so, it seems like this is the kind of thing where having a dictator would help a lot with making the obvious right decision instead of getting stumped by dumb technicalities.
