You can put the bonus link anywhere, inside the territory or outside of it. The wiki tells you how to make bonus links under mapmaking. Really, you should read every page on mapmaking before you start asking questions on the forums lol.

$3 isn't much. I was kind of curious how much people are paying for map making, and somehow I imagined higher figures as I assumed it was $/hr based and map making sounds like a multi-hour project.

€0.10*nTerritories isn't too bad, considering the detail that has to be put in every territory (once you get payed, you are expected to deliver quility)

that would be €320 at most, and you could probably get a discount for buying in bulk of for each of the territories lacking detail.....
