Let's all poach MHunters people, I am sure that will go over well with Mike.

AI has been bullied, humiliated, almost left WL at that time.

Darn it'd really suck if AI were to disappear from WL without word! I'd poke around in a couple of clans to see if there are any new good German players running the ladder right now though.

I don't get the concern with poaching. WL clans undoubtedly suffer from more market inefficiencies than pro baseball teams and yet pro baseball teams are working just fine with rich teams 'poaching' good free agents from poorer ones. Not every clan is immediately in a position to serve the interests of its most skilled players- you have to build up to that point with the understanding that a lot of the players you invest in might be sucked up by clans with more resources.

Honestly, the top-tier clans are not particularly efficient at identifying or cultivating talent; they've got a leg up, for sure, but not to the point that clever management can't easily prop up a competitive clan to rival them.

I don't know if all clans keep recruitment vs. training investment vs. return data, but those that do should be able to easily see the WL is a context where building up your players on the inside is much more efficient than trying to go for known stars. Really, the hand-waviness of the community here makes it almost a replica of the MLB circa Moneyball.

Hrmmm. Sorry that this thread even started. I agree that Norman and Mike come across as whining about poaching. I hope you all realize that Norman and Mike are not the voice of everyone in MH. MH is a varied community that puts up with conspiracy theorists (Mike), arrogant germans (Norman), American Assholes (Me and Legacy) and even really nice people(Espurr). As for the topic of poaching itself, who the hell cares? People are free to do what they want. If Masters or MH wants to invite someone from another clan, who cares? If you want to be in an elite clan just to feel better about yourself then do it. If you want to because you like playing with the dudes in it, then do it. It is not something that can, or should, be regulated so stop discussing it and play some WL.

At least I don't hide behind an ALT. And considering your percentage of downvoted posts, no one seems to care about your posts either.

I used to get approached all the time, probably by over 10 different clans with some multiple times.
I got so fed up about it that I started my own clan in the hopes it would stop. How naive of me...

Not saying it's a problem, but some poachers are a tad impolite.

I agree with this a lot, however the idea that clans can cultivate their own players into stars is much much more difficult than it seems in theory. The reason for this is because a player requires a competitive nature and burning desire to become great in order to do so, and the majority of players just do not have that passion and motivation, and when they do they will often go elsewhere.

There's also a small selection of training clans, and if a player with insufficient skill really wants to seek this kind of training, he or she will most likely join a clan like 101st which is renowned for their efficient training services as opposed to clans whose desire to train and number of resources to accommodate their players' needs are lacking. Furthermore the reason there is an alt problem on Warlight is partially because the number of these players are lacking as well.

To be honest Farah did not want to come with but I won him in card game when I thought he was a woman. Trust me, everyone in Masters was disappointed when I came back with a tiny dutchman.
