The title was definitely trollish but the single player level he was referencing is named 'Turkey or Ham' so it becomes more understandable.

Schied, post on your real account. I don't respond well to pathetic alts.

@Lane: That's what I was thinking. It's not a one-hour disabling but actually varies based on your karma. I have a pretty high-karma account so I never get rate-limited for over 10 minutes (it also varies by subreddit). We could do something similar with levels.

But I doubt Fizzer's gonna implement anything complex here. So just a flat limit of 1 thread/10 minutes and 1 comment/minute should do the trick.

Honestly I don't think that the thread flooding is a huge issue. It happens rarely, and it's easy for us to clean up. As others have mentioned, a captcha would just slow it down, not eliminate it.

I like the idea of rate-limiting thread creation speed based on levels. For example, low level players can only create 2 threads per week. I want to do it by thread, not by post, since there are more legitimate reasons to post more quickly to a thread (for example, if you're having a back-and-forth discussion with someone).

The real problem is low-value content. People posting things that others just aren't interested in. A few here and there is fine, but when the forum becomes dominated by uninteresting stuff it drives away the people want to be reading the forum.

I may do something about this problem soon. I just have to finish YouTube export and the iOS update first.

This is related to the forum and I wanted to mention this somewhere.
If fizzer reads this thread he (you ;) ) might want to change this minor bug.

when looking at the multiplayer tab on pc you also see forum treads to the right.
You may access the latest page of a thread directly by clicking on the time passed since the post was made.
This works for the "normal" forum section, but not for the clan forum overview.
The linking seems to be wrong.
Would be great to fix this. Would improve the forum experience for me :)

back to topic:
I think limiting the amount of creatable threads could be a way to slow this trolling down. I do not think this will stop them, but it will make it more timeconsuming (they have to create more accounts)

1. Thanks for the response!
2. Are there any potential solutions you have in mind for this? Like some kind of thread score system based on age and rating, where you can upvote and downvote (I know reddit comes to mind)

Since Benjamin said it earlier - I'm guessing you're referring to my previous post. I don't have 100% certainty that bs and CMU are forum mods - they're just guesses.

It could be worthwhile to create a Quality subforum where mods can either move threads or just approve posters/submitters. It would be a little bit intensive on the moderators' end but would create a place where people can consistently expect high-value content. (Basically the opposite of a Troll/Junk subforum or a more expansive version of featured threads). Perhaps just a level requirement to make things automatic.

Thanks for checking in on this thread even while you're probably getting pulled from all directions.

@Benjamin, and others
trust no one with power.

X , X , and X are all publicly known mods? Do you mean excessive power, like banning people?

Since the is no list of official list of WL moderators, pleas don't list them. Not all of them wants to be publicly know.

Yes, you can properly find 10 or more moderators simply by reading on the forum, but that don't mean you should list them. While I don't mind being refereed to publicly, I know some moderators who do. Also, since they have different roles, listing them all in the same way often leads to confusion.
