Imo , I believe that the hostility in theads are at an unacceptable level and should be resolved in some way or another. As Humans we feel emotional pain the same way as physical . so rejection actually hurts. As a person myself , I understand people cuss about each other just cuz they hate each other. And don't take that in a biased way.

Speaking of bias , everyone is equal in a way and should be treated the same. I , as a person can't resolve arguments completely . Bias is an insult to a certain group of bullying and I sometimes consider it as racism or discrimination.

We all have different views of people around us. I don't believe we should accuse someone for treason only because that sent hate mail to you. We all have different versions ews of our environment. Not ecologically but social.

Everyone be nice to each other. Period.

On a side note we need mods.

You have an old group of players who have been here for a while, who were active when the forums were less hostile, where the trolls were funny and where toxicity was almost (Sharpe why man ;) ) non-existent.

Then, an influx of new players. Some integrated. Some desperately tried. Some just trolled. What you see now are the 'new' irritating the 'old', generating an atmosphere of hostility. I don't think I'm alone in preferring the forums 2 years ago. To me now, they seem like a wasteland. I've been on the site around 4 years. Yet now, scrolling down the first page of the general forum, I only recognise Fizzer and Kasparov. I don't know a single other name! A sign of the forum losing the old player base, meaning less valuable or interesting discussion and more inexperience, incompetence and insufferable trolling.

The forums should be more used. We could maybe have Warlight groups for popular forums like Something Awful. I don't go into "large" forum sites often. :(

The threads are too serious. It is hard to create an interesting thread. Internet forums are often about politics and maybe sports. :(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

I've been playing for a bit over a year -- and I find the forums are mostly a waste because of a lot of the nastiness.

If one of the "highlighted" ones, like this one, catches my eye I may say something -- but mostly I just avoid the forums and play games.

As to having them moderated -- I think the problem then may become one of extremely slow approvals or needing to pay to access them.

Simple solution: reputation tracking. Users set the minimum "reputation" below which they'll not see others' posts. Users start with 0 reputation and are able to assign 1 more reputation point per X games played (so it's like community votes) which they can use to either boost or lower someone's reputation. You can make exceptions (to counter uncommon situations in which someone's reputation was lowered by a mob but they actually aren't a troll).

So: Player A joins the forum with 0 reputation. Player B, who's played 50 games, has 2 reputation points to assign, and is a troll. Players C, D, and E are in Player B's clan and have 8 unused reputation points between them. Players F, G, H, I, and J are outsiders who collectively have 20 points.

Player A is reponsible and posts mostly interesting game links. Player B, who's a jerk, decides to lower Player A's reputation to -2. Players C and D join in and Player A's reputation is now -9. Players F and G, who enjoyed Player A's links and liked suggesting better moves/picks, notice the absence (they had minimum reputation set to -2) and add an exception for Player A. Player E, feeling guilty about the actions of his clan, gives Player A +1, bringing him back up to -8. Players H, I, and J are apathetic and do nothing, although Player J later adds an exception for Player A. Players F and G bring Player A back up to +3 with their 11 points (they aren't trolls and play a lot of Ranked Games, so they've got a good # of points to distribute). Player A now posts interesting threads again, and having accumulated 3 reputation points during this time period, lowers Player B's reputation to -1 and filters him out of his own view. Over time, Player B isn't visible on the forum because they're a troll and gives up on forum trolling and actually learns how to play. Everyone is happy, and within months a cure for cancer is announced by Players H and I.

Genghis, I looked at the 2012 threads, and analysed a whole page of them - it was all just minor announcements that all got less than 10 posts.

You can find decents talks about it, but you can do the same in anywhere.

I prefer 2015, it just has it's bad and good waves.

It will never work. The link explains why. Humans will simply demote everybody they see so that their reputation score looks higher compared to everyone elses. There is no incentive to give reputation points other than to make friends. Rational Human beings would realize this very fast and just start demoting everybody they saw.

The real problem is this: People care too much about what another random person playing an online game thinks. Too many arguments have been started and not resolved over politics or sports or things that don't have to do with warlight. I am not advising that we dump the forums because they are irrelevant. I am advising that we stop trying to burn down posters, give death threats, and flip shit because somebody has a different opinion than you.

Grow up guys. People will have a different opinion than you and you have to deal with it.

That said all humans are NOT equal.
