What is the least utilized game setting in Warlight. I have a few in mind, but interested in hearing from the masses. As you know, Warlight is highly customizable.

Please share examples of how you like to use the lesser known settings to make new games with new strategies.

That would probably be dense/heavy/complete fog. I don't think I've ever seen it in use.

Edit: Apparently I played with dense fog in a 1000 player FFA tournament. Here's one game:

Combining all of them is fun!! No-split mode + multi-attack + local deployments + complete fog

Heavy fog, old tourney so it have high luck.

Army cap is not frequently used. I've seen it sometimes, but only on FFAs.
Cities Distribution, can't remember to have seen it for a long time either.
The least used card is Surveillance card (I think), though it's not that uncommon. However opponents cards Visible I almost never see :P

Most of the settings I see used often, except perhaps no-split mode.

I've never played a (real) game with either no fog or complete fog, though!

Dense fog is also really bizarre... never seen anyone use that, either. Seems like an odd setting - why would you use it?

Fog settings should be more customizable.

^ Being able to see a certain distance away, for example, would add an interesting twist.

^ You mean by seeing down 2 or 3 connecting territories instead of just 1? Huh. Never thought about that.

Well, if we're just imagining possibilities, then perhaps the easiest way to do this would be to divorce visibility from adjacency.

In other words, moving from a territory to another and *seeing* from one to another are not always the same.

You could create a map with a bunker: anyone adjacent to it can attack it, but no one can see how many armies are inside.

You could also create an "observation tower". It's a regular territory in every sense, except that anyone in that territory can see up to 4 territories away (or the whole bonus, perhaps).

This would also make for some fun cards: you could extend your ability to see things (like the current Recon/Surveillance cards, but you can only use them on areas adjacent to your armies), hide certain territories from view, and so on.

It would certainly be fun to be able to make a "canyon" on a map: anyone around can see into the canyon, but troops traveling through the canyon cannot see out - only behind and ahead of them.

Imagine a card which can impose a different Fog level on a part of the map, temporarily or permanently.

It would certainly open up some exciting possibilities.
