Hi, I just signed up for clanwars today and I had no opponent, while other players from other templates got a free win, I don't get a free win while I hadn't had a free win this season. Does anyone knows how this is possible or how it is determined to get a free win/no free win?

Did someone else from your clan either get a Free Win or play a game?

If so, that's why - only 1 FW per clan per template and only if no one in clan gets a game on that template

If a clanmate gets a game/FW in the same slot and template you can't get a FW

You didnt get a free win, because your clanmate (PresidentMark) got a game on the template.

This is implemented like that, to prevent a clan from signing up with 40 players on the same template and getting a lot of free wins.

Replace Free Win with Free Pass to play a game at any later slot for anyone who doesn't get a game = problem solved, including 2v2 freebie snatching

Nevertheless I think this should be changed, make sure the residual player always get a game or play against a super smart AI, or introduce a 3 FFA. what do you think?

then what about, for example, the last slot? or for some time zones, the 4th (e.g. me) and 5th?

TBH, I did not at first understand, why Fizzer was ignoring the change to CW matchmaking (for example καλλιστηι's suggestion seemed very good to me), and thought (probably as most of us), that he was "not doing that, because 'no'".

Yet during AMA Fizzer was more clear about the reasons. So he stated, that "every matchmaking algorithm might has pros and cons, and the key con, that he wants to avoid, is to minimize unfair matchups for the top CWR players, even if that would bring issues to the lowest CWR players". We may disagree with it, but, imho, at least that is a clear position, which also gives the community a hint to how we may persuade Fizzer to change the matchmaking.

I was thinking about, that maybe someone might just simulate/model the new matchmaking vs old matchmaking, so that we could evaluate in numbers, how the suggested changes would affect players, and with that research, approach Fizzer once more.
