@supi: the problem is that the colors must not change while the borders change drastically. E.g., with that world map if Russia conquers and annexes Kazakhstan and you can't change the player colors mid-game (like on Warlight), you would not be able to visually tell where Russia ends and Turkmenistan begins.

700 coins for a 100 player game is quite a lot...

I don't think your equation is right, JK. Per your data:
| Number of Players | Coin Cost |
|-------------------|-----------|
| 50                | 250       |
| 75                | 450       |
| 100               | 700       |


Your equation would expect 250 for 50, 375 for 75, and 500 for 100. The cost instead scales superlinearly with number of players. It's probably some progressive cost system where each additional player (or player bracket) costs more than the last.

The 4 colour theorem works only if there are no enclaves. Warzone with 100 players will have lots of enclaves. 40 will not be guaranteed to work.

I think it is a slight issue that the mega games do cost so much, I mean 700 coins is a lot. I understand it can cause A lot of server strain but could this not be maintained by limiting the amount of Mega Games available? I feel like the overall cost should be reevaluated.

Stupid question but how is a 100-player Mega Game going to create considerably more server strain than 3 40-player games?

From the game dev I've done (Very little for online games) I believe that if a lot of these were made it could put stress on the server, of course not an amount that would cause a shutdown or anything, but it could definitely be noticeable. Of course we'll have to wait till a few of these start getting made to see.

I also just realized that since you can make games cost coins you could make each player give 7 coins to enter and easily make back what was spent. So maybe the coin cost will actually just be unnoticeable depending on how popular the mega games end up being.

you cannot put an entree fee on mega games, so you would have to make 99 individual 1v1 games to get your coins then (or 40+40+23 player ffa games)
