Xeno actually is a pretty good mentor and player, but he jokes around sometimes. If you want to learn how to play competitively, I recommend finding a mentor early on. The easy way to do this is to join Xeno's clan Discovery, join the Discord, and then you will (unless things have changed) get showered with attention and mentorship as long as you show motivation.

This is generally true for most of the strategic community as well. People are very generous and sincere if they believe you are sincerely motivated and coachable.

I was looking for some game links because I've seen Xeno actually explain picks really well before, but I can't find them. I can, however, find you a few from other players/mentors where, if you read the game chats, they explain basic pick strategy in depth and discuss approaches for specific boards:

Both Ursus and Redqueen are among the best competitive strategic players on the game. I can't tell if you're new to the community, but if you are, welcome! I recommend joining the Discord (https://discord.gg/p8r676Ge) and finding a few clan/strategy Discords to join (here's the one for Discovery: https://discord.gg/aSGp8vx5). Once you're connected with the community and have a mentor, your training time tends to get very efficient because of all the help you get.

I think watching games from good player is a good advice, I will do that and hope I can figure out what is behind there orders (more or less) lol.
About joining a clan, I am not ready for that at the moment, wanna figure out as much as possible on my own.
