and that's the right decision as he shouldn't. Equivoque has been in the ladder since March 17th and first almost everyday. I don't see him complaining. Everyone here that voted +1 simply loves having excuses. If not the rating system, then the template, if not the template, then the lack of templates, and so on. The fun thing is, it's always the same small group of 20 players that complains about everything.

To be honest, Fizzy should make the MTL format the official 1v1 ladder format, or at least add it as a new ladder.
It's missing out on a lot of players by being offsite.

Krunx and AI have the 1v1 ladder trophy and they are complaining though Irise.

I don't believe skill neccesarily proves/disprove/validate an opinion. It's about individual player experience and observation which in this case is a different rating system apart from Bayelo would benefit the ladder significantly as a whole.

+1, but I doubt anything is going to change. This conversation pops up multiple times per year. While it would be a good change to the ladders, keep in mind that only a very very slight amount of the playerbase is using the ladders. Fizzer's job is to attract new players to the game, not to satisfy tiny needs from a very small fraction of the playerbase. Hence quickmatch. Changing the rating system is good, having Fizzer spend the time to change it is probably not worth it.

That is indeed more important to Fizzer then new players. He has to run a business after all, so its the people with the cash that he needs to please, not the new players. However, getting new players is also important since they might have cash as well....

Nobody's paying cash for the ladder though. Players pay cash for coins, colours and memberships (and some map/strat packs).

Well people try to bribe for a spot on the ethics panel in Cl, so I wouldn’t be so sure of that farah

F2p players are the "npcs" for p2p players. It's not just the chance of them spending money (like I eventually did), but that they populate the game "world". He can't outright support one group over the other.

Don't forget name-changes for people who don't wanna wait months. :P

Membership doesn't directly affect ladders, but people buy membership because they want to support Fizzer. So he could lose memberships if they believed he wasn't doing a good job. The members also tend to be higher level/players of higher stature, so their opinions will be taken more seriously than some rando or off-topic troll.

1. "Excuses" don't invalidate the fundamental logic of an argument. That's the kind of thing someone brings up when they lack strength of position.
2. A lot of other good/elite players are complaining. Just not your cherry picked example. Lots of people don't use the forum, right? I'm pretty sure most of them are better than you are, by the way. And they aren't making excuses.
3. I explicitly state that I benefited from the system that I disagree with, and that it needs to change. I'm probably not the only in this position. Are you in the habit of responding without back reading even mostly-empty threads?

It looks to me like you're either trolling or looking for "excuses" to support your point. Unless you were trying to make an argument so silly it actually supported the "opposing" side. In which case you could be succeeding fantastically. None of which are worth taking seriously. My bad.

Yeah... I've seen this topic come up before in the past.

In my honest opinion, the MTL is better than the 1v1, since it fluctuates a wide range many different templates and allows vetoing of templates range

I agree with Skaarfungand on this topic. In short, there are more than 20 players that don't like how the ladder works as is; many just don't use the forum! There are a bunch of elite players out there who, I'm sure, don't like how the system works.

I shouldn't feel like I have to take off 4 months from the ladder, which was my recent experience.

MTL should not replace 1v1 ladder. Both are useful for different things.
