there is a mod called information for spectators. Haven't tried it myself but sounds super-useful for this event.

So TBest and I tried this and it wasn't what we're looking for. A few ideas have been tossed around about how to let people spectate the game, but so far it seems to have more disadvantages than advantages. Writing a mod to achieve a spectator view looks to be impossible for now. It's likely we'll use screenshots to inform The World of the state of the game.

There also was an Odin vs the world event in 2014.

Quick question. The QM template has neutrals on each wastelands set to 5, while the template you linked has it set to 6.
If there is no objection, can we use the QM template, since that is the one I have gotten used to playing? *
Seeing as Timi is a beast on QM, I suspect that he might be used to that as well.

All other settings seems identical to me.

*I have no clue to what degree this change affect the game-play and such. Don't know if both have been used, or if one is old/etc. That being said, pretty sure I can remember playing on both before QM was added.

The MDL template uses wastelands of 6. I suggest we stick with the MDL version, as those templates are as official as they come.

So,

I was the one to provide all the template links for the MDL. Apparently, I gave the wrong template link for the Greece template, which utilizes wastelands of 6. I genuinely thought the template had wastelands of 6, but I stand corrected. This means the MDL version of Greece is not the one that was played so much in the past.
I've asked Timinator which version he prefers, and it is the one with wastelands of 5.
