I’m pleased to announce a special WarLight event called Timinator versus The World! This is a public 1v1 WarLight game that anyone can participate in.

This game is a game where one side of the game will be played by Timinator, who’s one of WarLight’s best players, and the other side is played by you! Everyone in the WarLight community can vote on what move to make in the game, and the highest voted option will be carried out in the game.

This game’s primary purpose it to serve as a learning exercise — who wins isn’t important. The game will take two turns every week – one every Tuesday and another every Friday. Check the forum to follow along with the game, read strategies, share your strategy, and of course, vote!

The voting uses Polljunkie, which has a cool voting system that doesn’t require you to pick a single option. Rather, you can rate each option in order to select your preferences.

I will create a forum post for the turns every three days or so; every post will have a set of options which you can vote on. I will ask some people to help analyze and come up with possible movesets to make sure we get a reflective idea from the community. After establishing the possible movesets, you will be able to vote on said threads.

Important: Be sure not to post your strategies or talk about the game anywhere except the official forum threads. Timinator knows that he’s forbidden from reading the clearly marked threads, but if you talk about the game somewhere else he may accidentally come across it.

Although, one of these forum threads every three days? That's a lot. Maybe try to condense it too one forum thread every three turns.

Also, who will be playing against Timinator in the game?

poor choice of an opponent, but nice idea.

The poll link doesn't show me any options, only asks to sign in/register. Used my Google account to sign in. This is what I see:

1. Interesting idea, I like it

2. Poll is empty (as DanWL said)

3. @Viking1007: I guess Farah will be playing Timi

4. Fizzer should fix the images and special characters not rendering on the android app

It's weird; I tested the poll with another browser and it worked fine. Now it doesn't. I've replaced it with another polling site that I've also tested, so tell me if it works. The account playing Timinator will be mine, as it will make committing easier. The poll-link is updated in the first post.

I vote for a stronger opponent, more like Timiweak!

There also was an Odin vs the world event in 2014.

Great, we better win so Timi can't get that 100% achievements + beating the world stat.

@Farah, there is a mod called information for spectators. Haven't tried it myself but sounds super-useful for this event. (If need be, we can likely just fork that mod to only show the world's players info)
