New Sp levels for us Sp enthusiasts! Kinda bummed that the new levels seem to have been added randomly and not by difficulty!

Hope we will soon have the full lists of Sp levels on the all built in link.

I wonder, does anyone know how the levels were chosen? Was it based on by the number of likes, or are they new levels entirely?

they arent new levels (one of my levels is in there wich is rly old tho) but apparently levels liked by the community.. hoowever that 1 level that came from me i actually dislike and am not "proud" of so im not sure if the "levels liked by the community" is true or if it was only been done randomly.

Also the supposedly hard levels in the end of the list i never heard of so they cant be that hard. i kinda hoped that fizzer would add one of lepanto's / muli's or mine most difficult level

also if they are based off of likes than thats a bad system. the likes is rly only a different way to say how many people beaten it. people ever only like a scenario if they beat it. such all hard ones dont get any likes.

Current SP stats.

Picking new levels is not that easy I guess. First, most played means that a lot of players have already played the level and it's likely too easy? Same issue if you go by likes. Most difficult and you have quite a lot of levels with bad luck design or simply too hard for the official SP campaign.

I would guess that Fizzer put some filters in place, then picked the levels. (Say, 5%+ win rate, 500+ plays, sort by most difficult?) He perhaps played with the filter too, using 10/11/12 % win rate. Other factors might be to limit the repeated use of a same map etc.

yeah thats probably how he did it but then he shouldnt say "the best" but how he decided wich to add.

altogether "best" shouldnt be used anyway as everyone has a diff view on that. imo the best level is a level that is very hard and requires only little to no luck and is fairly short / small.

this is the reason why imo the best level (i did) is Stalemate #2.
Its definetly not the hardest level i did but is prob one of the uniques levels out there because its literally a Stalemate if you would play against a real Person.

If you check the original levels you will see that the list seems rather random..

i mean you have many levels that are just random parts of a series or levels like these that have super high winrates:

Honestly with so many good levels and creators around I was not too surprised that not a single level of mine was picked, but not getting picked over these levels is kinda lame!

still i like the new addition! just hope the list might get tweaked a bit :)

yea the addition is good. but what levels ended up getting added is just....

Edit: I dont get all together why these levels have been added shouldnt the official SP pool be challenging (from the levels that have been aded. not the original levels wich purpose is teaching)? seems more like a walk in the park. 1 boring level after another. Cant even brag to other players that you got further then them as there arent any levels that actually challenge you rly hard.

And since we complain, we should also propose something if we want to better things! :)These are some levels I find interesting that would make for some good end of the list (higher difficulty) levels. Most are between 5-15%, so hard but doable!

Considering these are levels that are supposed to be scenario's that you have to master in order to get a gold star, i tend to pick custom made scenario that don't have random picks.

This single player thing is interesting.

I think, it's biggest advantage that you can play in your own pace.
I mean the AI never sleep and can wait forever for you :)
While if you play multiplayer, your opponent is not so flexible (this is why boot times)

In the other hand, the AI is still like a Zombie, referring to the AI skills.
This is why my favorite single player level is a Walking Dead scenario :)

Nevertheless, I have an idea.
A single player mode where you can play with humans :D
There would be a (or more) group of players, who choose an AI name for themselves, and always if a player choose this AI in a single player game, one of these players would play as an AI :)
Still not an instant reaction compared with the real AI (and need internet connection for this), but not a simple multiplayer game neither. It is somewhere between the two. The player who play this "single player" scenario still has no boot time, and got relative quick respond from the human AI (although if enough big the group, can be very quick human AI response time!). And this would mean not a zombie level AI, but a very high one (if there are only elite players in the AI group) :D

I would play against this "AI" for sure ;)

I dont rly get your Idea. This would never work like that and rather just scream for trolls. it would also kill a lot of SP scenarios as the "AI" has some predictability wich makes certain scenarios even possible. With a human "AI" player all my levels (except the beginner challenge levvels) would be litterally impossible to beat. The same goes for probably most of Lepantos and Mulis ones.
Aswell when i want to upload a scenario i dont want to wait for a human to play me. For that i go to MP. But when i Play the AI than as usual its very easy to create impossible scenarios.

Overall i dislike that idea a lot. However i would like it when there were to make Coop scenario so 2 players in the same team vs the AI.

I think what Ekstone actually wants is different AI's. If a level maker could pick the AI, then you would mix things up a bit and it would not feel as predictable. For example having both Prod 1.0 , Prod 2.0 and Wunderwaffe all in one game, each playing as a different AI

No-no, you misunderstood my Hunglish, sorry.
All the present single player scenarios and all the current multiplayer things would stay the same.
This would be a brand new game mode where we could combine the advantages from SP and MP mode!

I mean, many players don't like to play multiplayer games because the boot times and the long wait for the opponent's move.
Playing SP mode you play absolutely in your pace without waiting nor booting. But against a zombie level AI :|
Replacing AI with a group of Humans would be fun for both sides (for the SP players and the human AI players too imo)
When I wrote my idea, I thought on strategic templates mainly (but the human AI groups can decide which templates they will play).

And this is only a very raw idea, nothing more ;)

You can play against AIs in multiplayer if that’s what you’re asking, as long as there’s atleast 2 humans.

Well, after trying some of the new levels, I have to conclude that a lot of them are hardly playable or of very poor condition. Looks like Fizzer never tested them, just picked by some system. Levels even contain grammar mistakes, like country "japam"...

yes sadly. this could have been a rly good update if fizzer would have asked the community. but that could be sort of difficult because i dont think that a lot (if anyone) who mostly (or only) plays SP knows about forums let alone looks at them.

I agree. Also too many levels that you can use autopilot, win easily and get a golden star.


It's a real shame, cause there are many good levels out there!

I was excited to see a lot of new SP scenarios come up in the play section, but unfortunately I'm very disappointed.

When I first started playing, the SP missions were kind of increasing in difficulty and I had the feeling thoughts had been put into what missions should be available and how progressions should be between them. And also they are very well build.

These new one seem random and completely out of order. There seem to be no progression and I find a quite a number of them of such a poor quality that they should not bee there.

Also progression through the missions gave XP and level progression. These new ones don't.

I feel like this update has ruined something that could have been good.

This level is bad when trying to earn a gold star, its dependant on luck 99 percent, if you will meet AIs under 21 turns, and map is huge. Kinda crappy but ok...

Looks like the level list has been changed! Some pretty hard levels at the end! :)

Still some easy levels and some that require luck left, but all the new ones that have been added have fix starting spots so it should make it easier to get a golden star!

I tried out some of the harder levels. While most of them are still pretty easy, there are few that will be a challenge if you want to get a golden star. (golden star turn requisite is original level record +4 turns)

Looks like levels are changing much faster than I beat them. And always some mess with previously beaten levels.
