@Joi https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2018/11/warzone-is-1-year-old/

Warzone is my full time job and I intend to relentlessly pursue improvements to it for as long as I can.

And for the record, what would really rock would be for people to enjoy work. Not gonna happen, I know, just saying it would be the best.

^Yeah, has been his full time job for a long time. That being said, Fizzer is not 100% alone anymore as there is an investor now as well that presumably brought in some capital (details here are not know). Through, Fizzer is the sole developer.

Also, let me hit up another offical source :P https://www.warzone.com/About
Why did I make Warzone?
Back in 2008, I was playing other Risk-like games with my friends and was never satisfied with them. I thought I could do better. So one day, I did, and WarLight was born!

When I initially created it, I thought I would just play a few games with my friends and move on. But I enjoyed working on it so much, I continued adding features for years. My friends invited their friends, and the game grew to a point where I was able to quit my job and work on it full time.

In 2017, the game was re-written from scratch with a ton of new features and launched as Warzone, the sequel to WarLight.

Call me an 'elitist' but I like knowing that when I join a ladder all my games will at least be against players who understand the basics of the game,

Clearly you've never played against me on the 1v1 Ladder - it was only a month or two ago that I actually realised that making 6 picks is a nice idea :D

So you're basically saying the world would be better without humans.

Now you're cookin'. ;)

People are homeless because other people won't let them have a house, they want the land and material for themselves.

How many homeless people are you housing?

Incidentally, another use for the level system is the ego-boosting potential it provides. Some of us like to strut around and show off the fact that we've been playing tonnes of lotteries *ahem* playing the game a lot.
