We just had a rule change for CL 11.

Old Rule

In the event of a substitution, the on-going games for the retired player will not be remade. Only games which have not been created will be allotted to the substitute. Both players will use up a slot playing this tournament. A substitution can be carried out by the CL staff. We will guarantee the substitution within a maximum of 3 days. Any new games created within this 3 day period for the retired player may be forfeit as well.

To this :

The full story can be found in the Division A thread. However, the short TL;DR version is that a clan (MH) did a sub that violated the old rule as it would place a player on 4 slots. However, this was not spotted in time and the tournament and games started. It was determined that the best action was to change the rule to what is now the new and current rule.

2v2 Final Earth tournament is very close to autostart (6 hours), but one NWO player still didn't join. Multiple reminders have been sent. Sorry to say but that might mean a tournament 0-6 for whole clan.

Also, I thought he was going to switch accounts. Wasn't there a rule about account used in CL10 or later is the CL account?

I know nothing about switching accounts. While there is an adnotation about a "Verbal Kint" account (what clan did it play for in CL10? I don't remember it), no such account is in NWO. As such, I didn't even think of inviting it to the tournament - especially since it's agains the rules - and the player simply declined it without saying anything. :/

He played 2v2 SZEu for Stats last season. I thought players with the names in brackets were accounts to be moved, but didn't see it till now.

My input on the NWO case, both from personal knowledge of the situation and a rules point of view:

Keyser played as Verbal Kint for Statisticians last season. From what I understood (from a short discussion with TBest about this specific case), the rule is that he should (have) play(ed) with that account again this season so it would consist as a technical violation.

From a practical point of view however, I do want to stress that Statisticians have absolutely no problem with him playing for NWO this season and we wish him the best of luck. We would be perfectly fine with the Verbal Kint account leaving our clan as well and we did not include it in our roster. So it would make absolutely no difference with which account he played for all practical purposes.
Additionally, I also fully understand that Keyser Soze is his main account and that he did join Stats last year to help us out when he had a very slim roster while keeping his main in NWO. Hence, it does make sense that he continues to use Keyser Soze for CL in the future. So from a practical point of view, there is absolutely no advantage whatsoever, but this should not set a precedent for future cases in which a player (wants to) switch(es) accounts.

If anyone is unhappy with this explanation or has an issue about this, your next step should be to contact TBest and/or the Ethics panel.

I'll reiterate, but I'm lost so as to what to do with Zero2, thus I haven't invited it. Every player must be in the clan they represent on the start date of CL 11. - that doesn't really say about tournament creation, or tournament starts... I would like NWO to find a player that is in the clan to play 2v2 Guiroma please. Really should have done the same with Keyser/Verbal, I didn't realize that this player has some other CL account...
