The anticipation for the line-up reveals...

Yeah, I can't wait to see either which slots "retired" Platinum is going to play.

I'm not playing Clan League, however my ladder runs are still on-going so this is sad. So I might play 1/2 slots until my ladder runs are over.

There is no rule concerning adding players midseason to a clan's roster. So I am assuming there will be no additions this time?

Is there a rule? Reza just submitted our entire clan in case, although about 5-7 of those have no chance of showing up probably as they have not been seen in quite a while.

Lineups for A and B are in the sheet. If things go well, I will make them link better and such later today.

If you see any mistakes in your lineup (swapped two players etc.), let me know and I can fix it.

We just had a rule change for CL 11.

Old Rule

In the event of a substitution, the on-going games for the retired player will not be remade. Only games which have not been created will be allotted to the substitute. Both players will use up a slot playing this tournament. A substitution can be carried out by the CL staff. We will guarantee the substitution within a maximum of 3 days. Any new games created within this 3 day period for the retired player may be forfeit as well.

To this :

New Rule

Both players will use up a slot once the tournament has more than one game created. A substitution can be carried out by the CL staff. We will guarantee the substitution within a maximum of 3 days. Any new games created within this 3 day period for the retired player may be forfeit as well.

The full story can be found in the Division A thread. However, the short TL;DR version is that a clan (MH) did a sub that violated the old rule as it would place a player on 4 slots. However, this was not spotted in time and the tournament and games started. It was determined that the best action was to change the rule to what is now the new and current rule.

Dear Clan Leaders,

As some of you have noticed, Ko has been inactive for several months now. We very much appreciated his help in the initial organization and setup of the audit panel and the resolution of some early cases. Nevertheless, it is time to replace him as it would be undesirable to keep the audit panel a single person operation.
As a reminder, we were looking for people who care about Clan League but typically do not get involved in the drama and who are generally widely appreciated and respected by the community.

Consequently, I recently reached out to TheRiverStyxie who I believe fulfills these criteria as perfectly as anyone. She indicated that she would accept joining the ranks of the audit panel to replace Ko. Since the audit panel in principle works for the clans themselves, we of course do require a mandate for TheRiverStyxie to join the audit panel. We therefore would like to ask one representative of each clan the following 3 questions:

* TheRiverStyxie (profile link) will join the audit panel
- Agree
- Disagree

* Ko (profile link) will leave the audit panel
- Agree
- Disagree

* How should we resolve the situation if TheRiverStyxie does not get a mandate but Ko does leave.
- Continue with an audit panel of 1 member (Math Wolf) with support from TBest.
- The current audit panel (Math Wolf) proposes another potential second audit panel member.
- The clan leaders jointly propose another second audit panel member.

These questions will be distributed to the clan's representatives by TBest in the form of a Google Survey. Anonymized results will be publicly posted afterwards (similar to the Ethics committee elections).

What is the role of the audit panel?

They represent the clans when it comes to ensuring that CL is organized in a fair manner. This means they can review everything I do as well as everything the Ethics panel does. (For example, if someone disagrees about a ruling, they can go to Audit). Other practical examples include making sure that votes are held in a fair manner.

If everything goes well, the workload is relatively light.

That quite honestly sounds like the worst job possible.

To follow up on what TBest said: the main reason of having an audit panel is to make sure that there is a check on the organizers and ethics panel to avoid that they abuse their power and all clans doing that together is too unwieldy in practice.

I assume I don't need to explain why it's important to have a potential check on organizers and we can't just trust them to do the right thing.

It sorta is. In summary, you basically have no real power and you only get involved when there is potential drama. And if there is drama, you should try as hard as possible to not get influenced by it and find a resolution that is fair for everyone, which is typically difficult if not impossible. Hence why we were looking for that specific profile only. At least real audit panels get paid well...
P.S.: make sure Styxie doesn't read this part or she may not want to do it anymore! ;-)
