Now with ~30 interested people it's time to decide on the place and date.
Here's a brief review of both options:
a) Berlin - Hacker Space (
http://c-base.org/ ):
We would try to get the same venue as last year or go for an equivalent.
Estimated costs: around 25-60 Euros for a young and solid A&O-Hostel, depending on eight-person to single dorm for the 2 nights (A joint room in the A&O Hostel would make the stay there bearable);
20 euros participation fee.
There's several restaurants and diners in close walking distance.
Beware: You need to be 18 to attend. This is a limitation of the venue, which is otherwise awesome!
b) Groningen - Farah's house (

I live in one of the oldest houses in the city center of Groningen. It's a shared house with me and three other college/university students. They all have played warlight at some point.
But screw the introductory stuff; let's cut to the chase.
We have 150 square meters of space. Divided between three stories. There's a rather large living room and kitchen (houses about 30-40 people on parties) and there's a bar in the kitchen.
There should be enough room to place pc's, laptops and there's very fast Wi-Fi; I've streamed over Wi-Fi a couple times. I think we can cut the costs a ton by using my house instead of renting a venue;
I calculated a bit and the total for the whole weekend would be around €25,- per person, since the only real cost i have is buying out two roommates for the weekend so
there's enough place to sleep and beer. Did i mention free beer? There's free beer. And lemonade.
Other than that, i'm used to cooking for a lot of people, so anyone who wants to save costs by not going out for dinner the whole weekend can eat for about €3,- per person per day.
We might run out of sleeping bags and blankets, so if you can take your own with you, that would be much appreciated.
I should mention that there's no infinite space in the house. We can house 10 people for sure. Probably a bit more. There's cheap hostels around the city center if there's too many people signing up. Reaching the house won't be an issue, probably, since we are a 4 minute walk away from the central station. From abroad, the city is reachable via train or Flixbus.
There's also an airport, but there's not a lot of flights coming in and out. If you want to fly in and have to pay a ton for trains, I'll cut you a deal on the price to stay. If you plan to come over by car, parking is only possible in a village 5km from the city, next to a bus stop. Busdrive costs ~2€.
For either location: If you want to take part in the playing events, better bring your own device (laptop, smartphone, tablet)
