If you take 2 days and 23 hours every single turn, you are stalling.

And he's only playing vs me like that. He's completed a bunch of games since our started.

Picking territories, first turn etc. There is no reason those decisions take 2 days 23 hours.

if you were doing it intentionally and were not just really busy or something, then you were stalling.

makes no difference if you're winning or losing.

Stalling is the manipulation of the ladder rating system by intentionally playing significantly slower when you're losing than when you're winning. Not only is it hard to measure as-is, there's no good reason to expand the definition to just playing slowly.

People have lives they need to worry about. Why not just take advantage of this and find some hobby that lets you play at the same pace as these people? There's no way you can consistently make them all faster.

Man the definition of stalling has gotten so broad these days. So if I am able to play the game I must play the game!! otherwise I'm stalling? :P

The rules gives me three days and I'll play at whatever speed I like for whatever reasons... And if I lose I surrender the game, simple as that.

Maybe try and ask your opponent to play faster if you want to finish faster, instead of jumping directly to accusing and throwing dirt on a player. If someone asks I tend to play faster.

That is not how I define it. Just because what he's doing doesn't meet your strict definition of stalling, doesn't make it ok.

People have lives they need to worry about.

That's clearly not the reason he''s taking 2 days 23 hours per turn. As I said, he's completing other games at a much faster pace.

Ok, but if your reasons are malicious or antagonistic, expect to be called out and judged for it.

Just because you are allowed to do something within the rules, doesn't make it good etiquette.

We create our own definitions, but that doesn't mean those definitions can be arbitrary. Instead, we typically benefit from defining words in useful, meaningful ways.

Right now you're redefining the term "stalling" to refer to just being slow (which we already have plenty of words for)... but that's not the definition of stalling people use when they talk about how stalling is a problem. You're trying to slap the label on a completely different issue. Why not just be honest and use the right word? Are you worried you're going to look like an idiot if you phrase your statements more honestly as "I don't like it when people play slowly?"

There's a good reason we have a proper definition of stalling and not just your bullshit one that has barely any meaning. It's because it's worthwhile to have a term for that specific type of ladder manipulation.

So your definition is essentially worthless, and I hope you can see why no one's going to take it seriously no matter how high you're able to get on the ladder.

Hey im Tiano xd

lol such a bad opening forum:P
Motd is the best atm on the game called warzone.com
(2-4) mod buns timinator
you dont have to be for long time arround to know that:P
right everyone said before me dont check only the ladder for how going on atm,
the most players had already got golden trophies at the ladders etc.
Buns need's only 3v3 ladder trophy,
Motd Mod had dominant everything last year and also Timinator doing amazing perfomance last month on MDL at the herdest ladder atm,
lol when i saw the

"kicorse would appear to be up there. i'm not very familiar with him but he's sitting at the top of the 1v1. 2v2 and 3v3 ladders lol. that would seem to imply some skill...

i don't think buns should make the list, his skills have not kept up with the times, he'd be lucky to crack the top 10 in the ladder today and he knows it. which is why he doesn't play.

Kerékgyártó Zoltán gets the award for consistently toughest against me personally but i don't know how he stacks up against others.

i like Thagomizer's style, robo-playing 5 at a time and hanging around in the top 10 of the 1v1 ladder, including picking up a 1st place trophy. we'll see if he has any staying power. "

lmao it was funny:P
anyway i loved the reply's on this forum:P

Stalling is bad, but two things that are worse are: (1) Trying to pressurise people into playing faster; (2) Trying to pressurise people into surrendering when they believe - rightly or wrongly - that they still have a chance of winning.

The last two are much bigger problems, but also the stalling - or suspected stalling - that I am aware of has generally been from people who are quick to throw false accusations at others. Not surprising really: people are either prepared to try for an unfair advantage by any method or by none.

Now, I have not done any of these things, and nor have 90+% of my opponents (e.g. not a single instance in 89 games on the 1v1 ladder). What is sad is that they seem to be much more common among established players. I want to play strong opponents, but more importantly, I want to play people who enjoy the game and aren't out to prevent other people from enjoying the game.

2) is an issue for sure. I've been accused of stalling several times when I'm actually just trying to find a miracle. I'll also tend to take my turns slower then, as I'm trying to dream up a miracle, so it looks even more like stalling.

That doesn't apply to this situation, though. He's done it every turn.

"Stalling is bad? Throwing false accusation at others? I haven't done any of these things? " - Kicorse

https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=14285465 Just a pity you had no problem being in a stalling team in this game. To get that cheap 3v3 ladder trophy on a already very weak 3v3 ladder at that time.

Don't play the politically correct game making this statement about stalling on the forum. When in this game you do the opposite.
