I have an interesting idea in creating a map called "Evolution" or something like that. This is like a new mode to warlight. It has normal Diplo world map and rules except each player has its own place in "Evolution tab" and can "evolve". (to evolve player needs to attack another territory and get its income, properties and meaning). The territory that player can evolve into has its meaning. Lets say that it is an Ancient Era, and to gain power, Colonies/Nations needs to evolve into territory called "farming" to gain more income, so now the nation "can use farms". Each player nations development, progress and importantly-income depends on evolving. (To understand more easily i screenshoted the idea)

I thought that the main diplomacy map, that is perfect for this project is map called "Geopolitical Earth 2016". I mailed the creator of this map: Imperator, so maybe he could give me his map SVG file, but he dosen't seem to reply.

Can someone please help me find Imperators gmail or somewhere where i could find him, something that i could communicate him with.

Looks more like territory "development". Probably similar to EU4, if you know the game. I definetely like the idea.

ive considered this but whats the point? you just get more income. whats the difference between that and expanding on the actual map? nothing.

Looks totally nothing like EU4 what are you smoking. Its per player and not per territory

This more looks like a technology tree from the civ games and I like it more than Cata

Imperator wont give you his SVG. If you want a map with this system, you'll have to make it yourself

ive considered this but whats the point? you just get more income. whats the difference between that and expanding on the actual map? nothing.

if you wanted, you could just have a player be on the edges of the country for diplos, and develop inwards like that.

I absolutely LOVE your idea. However, I decided to give it some tweaks to make it even better.

Instead of just a raw tree giving income, how's about you can not only follow paths, but specific techs allow specific bonuses? e.g. a Gold Mine can be manipulated into income if you have Mining.

That's exactly what my expansion went on, how the bonus is increased by e.g. 3 if you have Oil Working.

Heh, I'm thinking of creating a Mod featuring a system like this (I'm quite sure it would be easier, and offer nice possibilities ;) )
But I'd still need a map corresponding to it, someone out there who's interested in creating one? (I'm not talented with map-making)
e.g. sth like a British Colonies map or stuff like that would be interesting, you could add the ressources to the regions where they've been produced...
Another idea would be to use cities (From commerce games, you know) as production places - so your "research" would boost cities in certain areas - only for you, ofc.

This expansion would also be tactically interesting, I guess - the territories would have different worth for the players - when a player mainly developped "mining" he wouldn't be as interested in Farmlands as a player with highly developped "farming" would be...

So, if somebody here would create/adapt a map for this, please Message me and I'll write this Mod for you ;)

^Ofc, that is not quite Civ level. Just put it there for reference.

If you want a Civ game, with a tech tree, I would use https://www.warzone.com/Map/22530-Hex-Earth . NinjaNic is a cool dude, and might be both able and willing to modify it to hold a 'tech tree'. Unless you want the tech tree only as a Mod UI. (or bubble wrap, since he scripted bubble wrap, so he should be able to script it again)
