Somewhere along these lines, but fill it up to 2-territories deep inland so you can actually add quick bonuses there, and fill down to the very bottom limit of the map to have a sea connection skipping the Sinai straight into Southern Egypt.

Basically, turning Arabia into some sort of counterpick for the Delta/Sinai region, as you could just take the Suez-ish area and lock yourself in Egypt for tons of income nobody else can touch. Giving this small area some dense but isolated bonuses will make it powerful for an early fight and giving it the sea connection will counter the defensiveness that Egypt has.

I have an idea. Instead of having Arabia connect to Egypt, I'll have Canaan connect to the Egyptian Delta. It makes sense historically and strategically, because whoever conquers Canaan conquers Egypt. It will also force players to start in the Delta, like real Egypt.

Aren't you limited to 1500 territories now?

Yep, that's the one. D' Anville has created quite a few ancient maps, so it may be worth digging around for them to find territory names.

So... can you guys help me out with the territory names of Eastern Egypt/Sinai? This map isn't progressing that much because of it.

That may be difficult - most of the Sinai is just desert. Have you considered using numbers or something?
