Knyte, who do you think will fight for your imperial wars that you advocate without rural Americans?

nice strawman, goy. He does not uphold any foreign war that the USA is in.

The policies he advocated for chased manufacturing out of the US, crushing small towns across the US that couldn't sustain themselves without it.

muh JOBS being STOLEN

Way to be all about prick, you really sound more like a prick and a know-it-all than knyte does.

muh JOBS being STOLEN

Overregulating , causing the recession, and having a minimum wage, all things Knyte and Keynesianists support, is what drove jobs out of small towns. Stop acting like leftists can do no wrong you ignorant jack@ss.

It's actually rather impressive how so many people change their general stance while speaking according to the president of their country. All it takes is one guy being elected for several friendly acquaintances and respect-based relations to end simply because either side is unwilling to accept it.

It's no surprise cities tend to point towards the left, first off because immigrants and blacks historically tend to live in cities in the US. And nor rural nor cities do well without the other.

Even Orange County CA voted blue this election. It's straight urban-rural this time, more than it's ever been. "Middle America" living in its bubble and ignorance doing its best to drag the rest of us down with it.

This is the single biggest economic disparity we've seen in a modern election. If you weighted votes by economic contribution, Clinton would have won in a landslide. Hell, even if you didn't weight votes in any way, Clinton would have won. It's only a system that decides a rural vote matters more than an urban one- the Electoral College- that triggered this result.

@Zeph: Eklipse is not my friend by any stretch of the imagination. He's a stranger on the internet towards whom I've only ever reacted in one of two ways: pity and laughter. Same for MGSB, Paugers, and all the other kids on here who will live out tiny little lives that will have little to no effect on society.

I think y'all are severely underestimating the speed at which most of these people's- the "white working class"'s- relative non-contributions to society can be replaced by robots. I've seen it in action- I'm watching it in action as I type this- and they're right to be frightened.

Until the election, I at least had sympathy for them- those odd third-world charity cases somehow living in my country- in that plight and a willingness to build solutions that would serve them at the expense of those of us who don't share their worries- solutions like job training, which they've consistently rejected in favor of yelling at China or yelling at "the billionaire class" for their dumb old "manufacturing jobs" to come back. But if they decide to throw the rest of us under the bus and shit on the carpet in a desperate attempt to get noticed, because people weren't pandering hard enough to their white identity politics, well, fuck that and fuck them.

This isn't me engaging in a political debate. This is me telling them that they're gonna die sad and broke, watching their neighborhoods fall apart at rates they haven't even imagined yet, and I'm not even gonna feel sorry for them at this point. If they see my preference for viable economic policy, my rights, and my place in "their" country as not worthy of their time or consideration- then I can't help but return the favor. The future looks just as beautiful without them.

"If only rich people voted we would have won! Boo universal suffrage! Down with the proletariat!"

I swear you're the one rich person I've ever seen that's ever genuinely hated poor people

I think y'all are severely underestimating the speed at which most of these people's- the "white working class"'s- relative non-contributions to society can be replaced by robots. I've seen it in action- I'm watching it in action as I type this- and they're right to be frightened.

If you remove the lifeblood of America; the rural worker-soldier, it'll be like removing the citizen farmer-soldier like Rome. You'll hire mercenaries for your wars and then they'll betray you because they're loyal to money, not the nation. Besides, you're a butthurt rich boy who's never been told no and you're contorting facts and evidence to try and get your way. It happened during the election and it's happening after.

which they've consistently rejected in favor of yelling at China or yelling at "the billionaire class" for their dumb old "manufacturing jobs" to come back

You can't replace manufacturing jobs with service jobs in those rural towns. And yes, their manufacturing jobs did go away because of your actions, stop acting like you're innocent.

white identity politics

Don't try to throw this back at the whites, liberals advocating for black, latino, asian, native, LGBT, and gender identity politics is exactly what caused white identity politics to rise in the first place.

If they see my preference for viable economic policy, my rights, and my place in "their" country as not worthy of their time or consideration- then I can't help but return the favor.

They did consider it. And they considered it for sixty plus years, and were accepting most of it. Until your economic policies destroyed their ways of life and you started discriminating against them. And now once they react, you have the gall to act like they didn't just spend eight years under a president they elected being tolerant of it.

This isn't me engaging in a political debate.

You're right. This isn't a political debate. It's a spoiled child crying about being told no for the first time in his life and rather calm and collected folk explaining why the child needs to shut up and stop thinking the world revolves around them.

Dude, I have straight-up no worries about a Trump presidency. Whatever recession he creates is just an opportunity for me to build my economic lead.

I'm not here to whine about the results- I'm here to tell Wally he doesn't need to. We're coming out on top anyway, and there's straight-up nothing you can do about it. These election results only give me peace of mind about the reality that- as you pointed out- a lot of the progress I work and contribute towards is just closing doors for the "white working class." The best thing I get out of this is the realization that I straight-up don't care about those sad folk- and never will. If this futile electoral victory makes them feel better about it, then so be it.

But if you like to lose, you're always welcome to bet against me. :)

y'all are gonna die off sooner or later anyway, so I guess we can wait and see.

Falling back on the "All conservatives are old white men" stereotype I see. Well, I'm probably younger than you are. Also, I don't live in a smog filled, overcrowded, disease brooding center so we'll see who has the better life expectancy there.

every ability you pride yourselves in having, I can automate (a lot more of them I can do personally than you'd realize).

Then everyone would be unemployed, and you'd continue to blame us like the elitist piece of trash you are.

We had better policy on the table for all of America.

What Clinton proposed was the same policies that have been decimating the American middle class for decades. More "Free trade", more jobs sent overseas, and more wealth accumulating for the top. Would it have increased GDP? Maybe, but only the wealthy few would feel the benefits.

Hell, I'm pretty damn well-insulated from your problems. I'm living in the kind of America that can pretend your problems don't exist if we don't want to

That's right. You live in a bubble, a liberal echo-chamber. You think that your ideas are the only valid ones and that anyone who disagrees should be disregarded. You think you can sit in your city apartment (or whatever you live in) and ignore the rest of the world? That house of cards is gonna crash on you some day.

but we're the ones paying for that turkey you just put on the table.

You aren't paying for squat. I just spent Thanksgiving working a 9$ an hour job because I need to make money on the side while I attend college. I bet that bursts your little bubble of idiotic assumptions doesn't it? A Trump voter, who actually works, AND is going to college.

Same for MGSB, Paugers, and all the other kids on here who will live out tiny little lives that will have little to no effect on society.

Try again, mate. Contrary to this BS narrative you keep pushing, many of us out here have plans for something better. I'm already almost done with my first years of college, and plan to transfer to a bigger university after that. It's not easy, because college costs are through the roof, but it's almost the only way to get ahead in this "perfect" system you've crafted for us.

What have you been doing with yourself? Aside from plotting ways to make half of America miserable like a lonely little troll.

and they're right to be frightened.

Fear is powerful. If you continue to disregard the working class, continue disregarding rural America, continue disregarding anyone who contributes less precious GDP then you do, things will only get worse.

in that plight and a willingness to build solutions that would serve them at the expense of those of us who don't share their worries- solutions like job training

Job training! For the low, low price of 40K a year!

In fairness, there was someone who offered solutions this year. There was a man named Bernie Sanders. The Democrats rejected him in favor for the same elitist, wealth-driven campaign that America has been running on for decades.

I truly wonder what has to happen before you see through your ignorance and arrogance. Even in defeat, you continue to preach and lecture from your glass tower about how you're perfect in every way and that anyone who dares to think counter to you is an ignorant savage who should be purged.

Enjoy your safe space while it lasts.

only if you call donald trump a f*ggot and worth 0.

it more or less is already like that.

don't be silly. Clinton specifically wanted to make it very easy to be jobless and to live well, and nothing's been "decimating" any economic class of America since maybe the 1930s.

more jobs sent overseas

knyte and others of his stripe have nothing but disdain for those they deem as beneath them.

I bet it must be so easy to sit in your little hightower, spouting high and mighty nonsense, writing off all who think differently than you as illiterate peasants. But guess what? Your cities, your banks, your vaunted GDP, it's nothing without the rural areas you so despise. Sure, you could wipe us off the map and not see an immediate loss in capital, but you'd starve to death by the year's end.

I used to respect you, knyte. But it's clear all your talk about putting partisanship behind, seeing new viewpoints, and treating everyone with respect was just hypocrical talk. Look in the mirror sometime. YOU are the reason this country is so divided. YOU are the reason Trump got elected. YOU and those of like attitude, are the problem.

Speaking of disdain....

You think everyone in America is rich, don't you? Ok, the "fat rich Americans" don't have jobs. They can't feed their families, put them through university, and are going to have to live with other folk because they can't afford housing. No they are rich because they are American, that is fact because I am X.

Tsh, you really think that no one is struggling don't you, it's not like anyone here is a teen dependent on a working class individual who makes 25,000 a year (which is barely covering the basics and nothing else), it's not like anyone here has family that are dying and can't afford healthcare because of the interventionist system in the US, and it's not like anyone here barely ate for two months straight to save money. No, no one here is struggling like that.

Yes, wct. I have disdain for cold hearted elitists who revel in large swathes of the country suffering.
