I was looking through the clan page browsing to see the changes that happened, and I saw that Optimum has only one member, which is the manager knyte. Being that I am not up to date on the Warlight information due to my schoolwork (it is spring break now :)) I am kind of confused by this. What happened? I looked through the forums, but I saw nothing. Did I miss something? I just simply ask this out of curiosity.

Also, if anyone who was formerly a part of optimum was dropped and is looking for a new clan home, I would be happy to welcome them to the FCC. I know many people from optimum, and they are all, for the most part, people I like with motivations that I like. But please, read the clan page (the FCC itself has gone through some changes) to see if you think you will make a good fit.

I'm currently inactive/dormant and spontaneously (without warning anyone) deactivated the clan. Today, during some downtime, I rewrote the clan page along the lines of the direction I'd actually want to take it.

Odds are that my levels of activity will rise again in the near future and I'll then attempt to build Optimum along the lines specified in the clan page- as a community within Warlight that I (and hopefully others) would actually want to be part of.

The fact that Optimum became something completely different from what I was trying to build was one of the reasons I was tempted to quit WL- I stuck around for a while because CORP had a community that I'd want to be part of, and post-CORP, with a mostly stagnant Optimum, I didn't have the community I'd wanted.

It's a selfish decision, I admit- but I don't want to spend another $15 on a clan when I come back (none of the existing clans are along the lines of what I want to be part of).

If anyone had stuff in the Optimum forums that they want fished out, I'll gladly do it for them.

TL;DR: Optimum's dead for now. I'm also reasserting the original plan I had for the clan instead of trying to adapt to a community I didn't really want to build.

Personally I'm interested how Clan League will go for Optimum at this stage. Will the clan take off in time? =P

To be completely honest I kinda had a feeling that Optimum would end this way. Part of being a clan manager is also to accept your limited controling possibilities. In the Master Hunters we aim to give our clan members the best possible environment however we don't enforce activity. The M'Hunters strategy guide was initially a bunch of forum posts that I created to explain my clanmates how to play properly. Also clanmates play gets repeatedly (asked or unasked) criticised in the clan forums. Quite some players with great ability prospered in our environment. If a clan member feels the need to insult me then sometimes it's smarter to look the other way than playing dictator and removing him (including all his suspected companions).

I got fatigued but need to come back to take my turns in some games where I don't want to just give people auto-losses.

I also needed to beat Semice in a 1v1 to knock his ego down a few pegs.

1. Optimum hasn't ended. I just kicked out people and decided to restart things.

2. I've also managed a clan before. No need to supply lectures. People seem to keep forgetting about CORP here. :)

3. Optimum also had no enforced requirements. The clan was probably above average in activity and whatnot; it just wasn't the community I wanted. So I intentionally collapsed it (i.e., abruptly kicked everyone out without explanation or warning) so I could later reconstruct it in a more controller process if I wanted to.

Yeah, wct, dauti, and others were great players and I felt bad kicking them out. That said, I don't think it's entirely a disservice since Optimum as it existed was definitely very, very far from meeting their needs as players.
