First of all good work with the effort and good quality posts that you made.

It is clear to me that you are truly interested in improvement so I will share my thoughts on a possible solution to what warlight lacks.

problem number 1:

There is little to no incentive with regards to clans and even worse, no incentive at all to good clan members that really wish to improve the clan.
(if there are any they would just give up eventually, especially the big clans)

problem number 2:

There is no real well established objective to reach which is simple and strait forward that will make players see/remember it.
Basically statistics are so messed up that any kind of ranking becomes meaningless.
Clans statistics seem the only that shows something which actually hints at an objective.(i have only seen them here though)


One Solution:

From your own queries of the statistics one could get some useful data to help in creating solutions to the problems above.

Part 1:
Create a statistic that actually reflects the players which are skilled.
I'm sorry but ladders are not the best way to do this job.
Choose a bunch of tournaments that only the very best players rank high in them and start building a database of those players.
This will finally create a decent objective to reach, instead of having ladder statistics which would include boots/luck/different modes/etc...

Part 2:
Create a hall of fame for those players, organized in the different modes like Local deployments, diplomacy, etc....(+ champions, I will explain this)
Basically if you won a decent tournament, you would have a history of the particular tournament displaying your name wins/losses in it and how u rank with other players that won it.
This should be easily accessible from the dashboard.


Part 3:
Now that you finally have an objective that every noob can see and not going in the forum to look who won what, finally you have an incentive.(i will explain this too)
Now it is possible to insert the concept of CHAMPIONS in clans.


Basically each clan leader is invited to a new type of tournament where only champions can join.
What are these champions?
A champion is a clan member which is skilled enough to teach new players how to play and also won a tournament within his own clan on the clan preferred mode.(1 vs 1)

Conditions for becoming a champion:
Must want the post
Must win a tournament withing his own clan for the champion position where all members must participate(inactive members loose their chance)
Must accept to enter the Clan Champions League
Must accept to train 2 members which came last in the champion position tournament.
Must join the 3 vs 3 Champion clan league with those 2 members.
Must join the 1 vs 1 Champion Clan league.

The champions must have privileges and duties.

Privileges:
-They have the chance to go in the Hall of fame with equal footing to those top players in Part 2.(incentive)
-They can recruit members.
-They can replace the clan Leader if need be(vacation/etc..)
-They have a say in clan league (not champions clan league)
-Fizzer can invent other incentives.

Duties:

Must train 2 of the worst players in the clan.
Must represent the Champion in Clan Champion League with those 2 players on his team.
Must be ready to accept challenges for his post as clan Champion if an other clan members only tournament is held and the new winner challenges the old one in a 3 vs 3, with his own 2 clan members that came last.

The main idea is to provide incentive for clans to train their own clan members and at the same time give a sensible reward for clan members that use their time to train people.

After all being able to train noobs is a skill on its own, that some top players do not have.

This also involves clan organizers to supply and organize those tournaments, if possible even within clans to make it as official as possible.

Also, in the Hall of fame you would have a record that shows which champion managed to push his clan furthest.
There should also be victories/losses of which clan defeated which and how many times.


This is just 1 possible solution and it is not perfect and surly needs patches and updates :P

But I hope that this is the kind of reply that you were looking for.

Objective statistics and unseen statistics have a strong correlation;
a lot of players try to inflate/farm their stats up,
obviously they will only do so for ones which are visible.
