The Roman Empire collapsed after years of mistrust and stress domestically. Do people not see that here? Ever since Vietnam citizens have lost trust in the government and our prestige fluctuating. China is becoming a military juggernaut. This generation is not used to a British Empire or Soviet Union looming over us. We are too cocky for ourselves.

3rd World Education. 3rd World Infrastructure, Unlimited power across the globe. That is a very deadly combination.

Rome fell to barbarians from the north, until raiders from Canada sack Washington D.C. you shouldn't use that comparison.

There was a slow collapse until the barbarians finally kicked in the door.

We live in a universe where everything will eventually fall apart. Everything will decay and die. Throughout history, countless nations have risen only to die a thousand years (or less) later. Nations thought to stand eternity such as Rome, Genghis' Mongolia, Persia, the Aztecs, and Incas (are just a few)fell. All that remains of these great and once powerful nations are buildings and literature. And in due time even those things will decay. America is still young, she may last a bit longer but she may eventually end up as Britain.

The current US is screwed in the long run. I just hope Russia falls first. I really don't want this country to fall to Russia. Especially not Putin's Russia. 0.o

By the time barbarians started raiding rome, rome was no different than the barbarians. This is something you can see expressed in the game Total War Attila. Rome just looks like any other faction, and kind of crappy factions at that.

Empires fall because of the rise of other powers and weak kings, today you can not tell barbarians invade America and destroy it, unless you see China and Russia barbarians ....

I intend to do something about it.

The U.S isn't going to fall apart any time soon unless it rips itself apart, either through civil war or citizen revolt.

The Cold War is still going on. Lately, Putin has not been very friendly towards the US and Obama has been equally douchey to Russia. If Putin will be happy with Crimea, then we're all good.
