Seems like taking any skill out of point accumulation and coin accumulation violates the integrity of the system.

Lottery games are OK as long as the game name clearly identifies it as a lottery game (it must use the word "Lottery") and the game has an equal chance of being won by all players (no matter what orders they enter or actions they take).

"Warzone does not sell anything that can give a player an in-game advantage. All Warzone games are decided by skill, never by your wallet."

So pray tell what skill is being utilized by the player that accumulates coins/points by chance?

The skill to not boot 😅

The real reason lottery/lotto games aren't banned is because its impossible to stop.
If you ban all the lotto maps, players can just configure any other map to have some crazy combination of settings that result in a winner by either luck or boot.

The last person I know of that tried to make a new lotto map got it denied by Fizzer, so at least he put an end to new lotto maps being added.
And by at least requiring that all lotto games be marked as such, anyone that actually wants to play the game properly can avoid the nonsense games.
But that's about as good as he can do without limiting the possibilities for proper templates.

So could it be considered gambling? Does it delegitimize rank and coin leaderboard?
So called lottery games seem a far sight from a skill game.

No skill is utilized, but no advantage is gained either. In all of Warlight/Warzone's history, a monetary in-game advantage has never been implemented. No coins or points will give you any advantage when it comes to you playing a game against someone else, since points and coins will not give you an advantage in a game.

Is it gambling?
Yes, lotto games with a coin entry fee are gambling in my opinion.

Does it delegitimise the coin leaderboard?
I don't think so, that board only tracks coins won, not how the coins are won or how much entry fees it cost.
Because of that, it was always easy to get on it if you just moved coins back and forth with a friend and never accurately tracked coin winnings.

Since lottos have a 50% win rate and coin games come with a 10% tax, the players actually end up with less coins than they started with.
So being good is the only way to actually profit from getting onto the coin leaderboard.

But to be honest, I'm not really sure what the issue at hand is here?
There is plenty of n00bs making games on templates that are horrible from a gameplay and strategic point of view (with some being completely unplayable), and lotto is just a subcategory of that.
And players are allowed to play bad templates, even if they have questionable settings.
