The draw for Round 1 of the inaugural Clan Cup produced some interesting results. Firstly, the five Templates chosen were a good mix including a wide range of features.
Templates
Elitist Africa uses INSS to calculate income and MA Battle Islands V uses Multi-Attack, but unlike the more familiar MME version this is with Normal Fog. Phobia provides us with the ever popular and challenging WR. I will be playing on Battle For Middle Earth, which I have played once and involves 16% luck modifier. Finally, we have Treasure Map, which I have not played but which looks to have more standard settings.
Matches of the Round
One of the first things to notice are the two Matches between Teams of the same Clan. The two Undisputed play each other and two of TLA Teams, Dwarves and Istari also face off. Thought was given to Clan protection and that may be a feature for Round 1 in future years.
The match of the round at this early stage must be Asslandic Turtles V Corpses. Both were amongst the Tournament favourites along with Clan League Champions O-Force 5 who play Building Cancelled.
Key Games
In the TLA V TLA match up where Dwarves face Istari we have a completely antipodean Match between LND and Seraph on Treasure Map.
HUNSTOPPABLES’ were pleased to draw Trumpets and Trumpeteer BoatyMcBoatface will play AustinW. Boaty has recently become quite a target, perhaps due to his fantastic username. We will follow the progress of Boaty to the final in 'Road To The Final'.
Next Round
The draw for the 6 Matches in the next round will be made on or around 16 September. Please try to keep Games moving forward but if any are not completed in time, the draw will not be held up. The third round will involve four byes so it is possible that any slow games will catch up by then and then we are into the semi finals.
