Hi!

I join (public & private) team tournaments solely to play with my buddies. However, by the time they see the invitation, other people might have taken their seats. It's always a headache to organize, and frustrating when the tournament starts and we get locked with random people.

Wouldn't it be better if there was a way to reserve slots (in tournament teams) for teammates to join?
For a limited time, 24h or something, so it doesn't hold the tournament.

That would be an awesome feature to have!

Not all features need to be built so well they can't be abused. That's not a good reason to not build so many things that would be used.

In just typing that forum post you went through at least a half dozen bits of software that can be wildly abused in all sorts of ways. If "can't be abused" were the requirement for everything, then the internet wouldn't exist.

At the very least I’d like to do that as a public tournament host. It’s annoying to type in chat that “Team J is reserved” only to have random people join anyway because it’s the first team they see with someone in it. Usually the people that do this, and don’t respond to my PMs asking them to swap to a new team, don’t seem to speak my language. So I can’t blame them too much.

Still sucks to spend coins on a public tourney only to get stuck with people who aren’t my friends.

We could implement this today via CLOT but then we'd run into the problem where CLOT doesn't actually work for anything outside a very narrow pool of players who have unlocked all the features that unlock surprisingly late in the level system.
