No need to put down other clans or players. Sure, Hotarian isn't the best at the game but he's very patient and willing to invest time in training newbies, and some players have appreciated that. Yes, there's better resources out there... but that doesn't mean Hotarian is bad. He does a great service to his section of the community and really pours in work. This site would be overall worse without Hotarian doing what he does to introduce newbies and casuals to the competitive side of the game. That guy really cares and listens.
one does not just simply join Masters, MH, FCC, Python. You have to already be good
Not necessarily. The process of joining 101st is simply to play a training game, play an MTL game, and ask for feedback. From there you're already in the Python family. MASTERs ended Apprentice and have been recruiting players who are willing to be active and whom they think will learn. M'Hunters similarly screen for promise and culture fit, although they expect you to have demonstrated enough motivation to have picked up the basics yourself. FCC has expectations, but Discovery is by far the easiest to get into among the really good training clans- any player willing to be nice and listen and put in just the littlest amount of work can get into Discovery and get a lot of personal attention there (at least this was true pre-TSFH merger).
The elite clans aren't as intimidating as they appear. They're full of people who love the game and community and can be incredibly nice, friendly, and helpful to those who show promise and want to learn.
Python has alexclusive and Redqueen. MASTERs have Timi and Kenny. FCC has Xeno and Ursus (Discovery). M'Hunters have Norman. There's a lot of other players like them. By and large the really, really good players on this site are incredibly generous with their time and delighted to help motivated players reach the highest levels. You shouldn't prefilter them out on the assumption they have high pre-requisites, because by and large they tend to be the best resources to learn from.
Honestly, I think this is universally true for the good players, even the ones with bad reputations for toxicity. I've gotten a bunch of training games out of Loxiiv, even.
