I think the # of win required to capture territories was lowered from 20 to 15 recently ... it took a long time to go from 70 to 50 territories remaining, but not so long to go from 50 to 15.

It has been capped at 15 since the beginning of this season, in an effort to make this season shorter than last time.

I think that a lot of the lower ranked clans all finally got enough wins (they get 1 win every few days) to get a next terr.

Given that the last 5 CW slots i tried to play did not have any SE templates, I'm now fairly sure Covid will end before CW6

To answer the original question, I don't know of any instances of a virus that after spreading around the world goes extinct within a couple years, or even a couple decades. Don't take my word for it though, I didn't research. Anyway, I'd place my bets on covid outlasting this website.

COVID pandemic != COVID virus

The virus will continue to thrive on some level for many years, the same way chicken pox, measles, mumps, etc, continue to this day, but the COVID pandemic "should" end over the next 3-18 months depending on how one defines 'pandemic'.

A fair question. The range of 3-18 months is b/c I expect people to define it in a varied fashion, and not actually have an official "END" to the pandemic.

Canada for example might declare it finish in 18 moths. USA in 12. Angola (just picking a random country in Africa) might be 3 months. And there are probably some areas of the world which have already declared in finished. And others who deny that there really ever was one. Some of these places could just be plain wrong, but it's also possible that the impact could differ to some degree depending on region.

I personally define the end of the pandemic as a time when restrictions on meeting people, masks, distancing, sanitizing, etc, is eliminated BECAUSE THERE IS NO LONGER ANY NEED FOR IT (and not just that people are tired of it), and while COVID measures of some sort may be in place (vaccinations, screenings, etc), the regular life of seeing people, travelling on public transportation, etc, can resume.

In that case, I keep my bets on the pandemic, that is the restrictions, outlasting this website. Even if the need for restrictions disappears, or the need for them was never there, lack of necessity doesn't stop people from placing restrictions and using covid as an excuse.
