Brisk people have used other ways to find nationality... Flag counters are the most common tool of alt hunters.

“Last seen” on profiles

Player’s profiles now have a line that says “last seen”, and indicates how recently they accessed any part of WarLight.

This replaces the old “inactive for” line. The old line only appeared once a player was inactive for more than a few days, and this activity was only based on how recently they entered orders into a multi-player game. That meant it was very inaccurate for people who didn’t play multi-player, such as those who only played single-player or only chatted on the forums.

One profile doesn't show any flag? Have they used Tor/masked IP? Or does the flag show after the play has been online again?

For some accounts, (especially old ones), their flag won't appear until a few hours after they play the game for the first time after the 2.08 update.

If still no flag appears, then there's two possibilities: Either they're playing from a country that I didn't enter a flag for (there's a few small ones, like Antarctica that I didn't bother with), or the IP-to-country program I used didn't know where they were.

Great update. Please leave it as where playing from. I'm looking forward to suspected alts playing whilst on holiday from both accounts.

Cool new feature though, and the "last seen" thing will make it easier to see who is online for real time games

One of the accounts with no flag is very new, though was only active a day ago.

out of curiosity, if i go in another state, will the flag update? :)

Sharpe has posted in the forums a few times very recently. Does the last seen thing only apply to certain tabs? He is listed inactive 19 days but has posted in the forum (I assumed it referred to being seen on MultiPlayer but that was denied earlier).

I would assume it would change to wherever you last logged in from. And then back if you were to log in back home.

Also, do in game chats, mail threads, etc all count towards last seen?

If they haven't been on since the update, then it's just showing the time since they last committed orders in a multi-player game, since that's what the old field tracked.

Fizzer, is there anyway to hide the flag shown on your profile?

It's not where they are from. It is where they are

Or at least which server they are using. There are many ways to fool the internet into thinking you are somewhere else.

@his balls , yes im british , according to my flag , but I was born in the philipines and moves to UK wen I was 6 , I played warlight when I was 8 and got my account in march 2014
