I keep getting spam "join my clan" emails--why is this allowed? the senders are dummy accounts, not real players. can i block this?

that's really unfortunate, the first step would to tell what clans you are getting invites for. than the appropriate clan management can take action

the actual sender isn't a clan member, but a dummy account. this shouldn't be allowed

hahahahahahahahahaha this is pretty epic, well you are a good recruit it seems.

there is no way to turn this off. you just have to block the people. inviting or mailing anyone isn't breaking any rules. but if a certain account keeps doing it you can report them.

in this case the sender is https://www.warzone.com/Profile?p=93133509505 not a real player account. clans shouldn't be allowed to create dummy accounts to spam

discovery is a very reputed clan. I didn't know they were involved in these practices

Not sure why you think that's not a real account. It's just an account with MR that multiple people share and have the password to. I'd assume it's used so that all people with the password can all see any mails sent to/from the account, as opposed to having each person with the password using their own usual account and not being able to see mails sent to/by each other.

that account has played 9 games. why wouldn't I assume it isn't a real player...the clan has members who have played 7000 games

if clan members want to mail me, that's different than using dummy accounts

You could try blocklisting accounts until they can no longer mail you

There are two ways how to prevent it.
1) join a clan. For example Hodopian Dynasty. Preferred.

2) go to https://www.warzone.com/Notifications/ and turn off "you have been invited to clan" notifications.

Would you prefer that all discovery management members noticed you and sent you X mails and X invites? I think using one management account is pretty smart, its still real players behind it. If they didn't invite you from that "dummy account", they would still invite you (possibly more than once).

Other than that, see above. Joining a clan does not actually affect you in any way unless you want it to (depending on the clan of course).

Best way to deal with it is to put any spam accounts on your blocklist. This has been a problem for a long time. Darklords come to mind. People were pissed at them in 2015 for spamming people to join their clan including people who were already in a different clan.

Im sorry that you've felt spammed.
I looked through the emails of the management account for Discovery, and as far as I can tell you have recieved 2 emails. Both linked to you joining recruitment tournaments for Discovery, back in January.

You recieved one email the 3rd of January, and one the 15th of January, and you answered them today, with:

don't spam

I hope you realize that when you join a "Recruitment Tournament" for a clan then you will be sent a mail about joining said clan unless the manager sees you're in a clan. If you dont want this, simply dont join the tournaments.
