The fire crackled on, and the villagers huddled together. They figured that, rather than repeating the mistakes of the last village, they wouldn't stay at home alone, and allow themselves to be picked off at will. They'd huddle together for warmth, and stick with the motto "safety in numbers", and the pesky wolves wouldn't be able to get to them! A cunning master-plan, all around were heard to say.
However, as the night wore on, the villagers began to get weary, and the sharp eyes which had, previously, detected the slightest movement, now missed obvious things, and in the darkness, figures were able to move at will, silently, undetected.
They struck whilst their victim was relieving himself. Being a medieval village, there were no modern contraptions, such as port-a-loo's, and so the wolf easily found their victim on his own on the outskirts of the group. He had elected to go behind a true, to protect his modesty and privacy, but it was to be his undoing, as the wolves used the few seconds he was out of the villagers sight to pounce.
Pulsey is DEAD. He was a villager
However, all was not lost, as at least one man was fighting off the tiredness, and spotted a glint in his colleague's eye. He was not an ordinary villager, but he was certainly on the side of the village!
