But yeah, you're right, political arguments are not a good idea with just anyone because then the result can be what you're saying: everybody just tryna express loudly how they're right and the others are wrong.

Well it depends, if it's because black/asian/latino students are less likely to obtain a scholarship I think it's it's correct, it helps to give everyone equal chance, but if it makes students that are not black/asian/latino less likely to get a scholarchip, then I think it's unfair.

The whole issue with that mindset is that it assumes race should be a factor in determining... well, anything. Race isn't something that should be payed attention to at all, nor decisions shouldn't be made purely made on race: that's racism.

In fact I oppose the whole idea of affirmative action. What you should be doing instead is make it purely economical, otherwise you're compensating for a supposed disadvantage in race in money. Note how a black person being a beneficiary of it is assumed to be worse off than whites and in need of that special program to even place them at the same level. That will never erase racism, since for many white people, that's not true and they are worse off than blacks. The supposed "white privilege" is an esoteric yet unjustifiable concept. Again, race doesn't mean shit, culture, social status, popularity, income etc. do. Race is just a skin color and people shouldn't be treated differently because of it (unless it's something where looks should be a factor, e.g. choosing a partner to date, or choosing someone for a job such as acting in a specific role which has to meet certain appearance characteristic. Random note: blackwashing is retarded. Another random, unrelated note: Asians actually have stricter requirements to get into US universities than any other race)

What the US is doing instead is trying to make up for its past by inverting the racism so that being black now gets you benefits instead of being white. This is not a good way to do it. Stop pretending like race should be a factor. It shouldn't. There's no point in whining about who's most disadvantaged. Some people have it rougher, sure, and blacks in the US do sometimes suffer from racism. Yet, the system shouldn't be legitimizing this by acting as if being a "person of color" is any different than being white. There should be a clear way for anyone to succeed through merit, hard work and all that. Help people because of poverty, not race.
