Multi-Attack Adds Weird Numbers of Armies?: 5/11/2020 23:27:26

If I use multi-attack it changes the actual number of armies to 100. I do not have attack by percentages enabled. If the AI runs, it actually says 10,000 armies. What is going on?

Multi-attack and attack-by-percentage are meant to be used together. Without it, you'll have to manually specify the number of armies you want to move for each attack. The AI just always puts a high number so it moves everything.

If you do not have " attack by percentage" enabled, it will use 100 armies as the default value.
This is in most cases enough to get all of the armies to attack or transfer.

The AI uses 10000 to make sure it will always transfer all armies, no matter the size of the army.

Multiattack always defaults to %. It's unavoidable, b/c after the first attack, you can never know how many units will be there, b/c you don't know the result of the first attack at the time you're making the move.

Wait, JK - am I wrong? I thought 100 was %, but you're saying this is actually 100 units?

Yes, if attack by % is disabled, it places 100 (absolute armies, NOT %) in the order because it doesn't know how many armies you will be attacking with

OHHH, don't think I've ever noticed that. Maybe I've only ever played while using %'s.

Ok, so if you have attack with percentages enabled can you attack with number of armies for the first attack then switch to percent or is it either or for the entire game?

If attack percentages are enabled, you can switch between absolute numbers and percentages.

EDIT: the "weird numbers of armies" are there because you don't know how many armies you will have at the moment the order is executed.
