In my opinion WZ or the tournament managers should adopt several other statistics that are being wasted as tiebreaker criteria before using the coin flip (it would be the last resort).

In a three way tie how is that resolved if player A beats B, B beats C but C beats A.

All of their other respective matches were won. Who wins in this case?

What tiebreaker criteria would you suggest?

-number of boots in the tournament (better said number of regularly finished games)

-average turn time in the tournament

Boots are okay for a tiebreak, time taken per turn is not.

You could look at "sum of armies controlled at point of win/loss" over all games of both players.

More games for the tied players? (there should be a limit though)

For example if A and B are tied, they have a tie-breaking game together.

But for a situation like A>B>C>A, where it would mean more than 1 extra game, the players could have the option to accept the tie or continue with more games.

You'll risk people purposely dragging out games and building armies to get a heads up, which is a worse scenario than what we're trying to solve.

A coin flip to me is the fairest. Each person has same amount of chance of getting the win.

Things like boot rate is something outside of that game and has nothing to do with skill. Why should one player be punished for having a X percent more boot rate than the other person?

I think it would be cool for Fizzer to have an option to VTE - coin flip or something. So someone gets points or whatever you need it for.

The only other one I could think of is overall win rate, but that can be manipulated.

Total W-L of defeated opponents?

Or just could implement auto rematch to tiebreak.

Simply repeat the 3 games and see the new scoreboard.

Let's be simple and objective.
Focus on fun.

In a round-robin tournament with four players, A, B, C and D, each of the three rounds could have different points, for example:

A vs B
C vs D
———
B vs C
D vs A
———
C vs A
B vs D

First round victory 100 points, second round victory 101 points and third round victory 102 points.

Would this way solve the tiebreak?

tbf, warzone should just assign 1st place to multiple people if they have the same score and h2h doesnt solve it.

no matter the situation, turn speed and boots should NOT be taken into account

if you really need a winner or loser, take whoever is fighting for the first or last X spots and host a new (RR?) tournament with those X people (for X == 2 a rematch will do).

if your RR has another tiebreaker, repeat with the remaining people that still have the same rank, eventually you end up with a head to head match that has 1 winner or loser

EXAMPLE
player original tourney	tiebreaker tourney	tiebreaker tourney #2	head to head
   A 1st 5th
   B 1st 1st 1st 1st
   C 1st 1st 1st 2nd
   D 1st 4th
   E 1st 1st 3th
   F 6th
   G 7th
   H 8th
would give a final result of:
B 1st
C 2nd
E 3th
D 4th
A 5th
F 6th
G 7th
H 8th
this will obviously require a lot of effort from the players, so if the ranking is less important, just call it a tie and get over with it

I think boots are a fine metric. You should play all the games if you want to win a tourney.

i would say the tiebreaker should be a best out of 3 or 5 or 7 as they cant always tie in a match someone will win at somepoint
