on homosexuality, God specifically calls it unnatural and vile.

half of the books in the new testament were written by an ex murderer of christians, king david had a man killed in order to marry his wife and God still said that David was "a man after mine own heart." however, there is not a single homosexual mentioned in the bible in a positive light. they are mentioned to be called vile and perverted, and to be an example of vengeance and eternal fire. there are verses which say that homosexuals can be saved, but they never get shown in a positive light in the bible.

Gany, those statements are not contradictory; just because people have natural tendencies towards evil doesn't mean God created that evil, or those tendencies. Evil came about because Satan disobeyed God, and it entered our world because humans disobeyed God.

And who said God didn't think of it? Not me. God is all-knowing; He knew what a mess we would make of His perfect world, He knew that it would cost Him the death of His Son to redeem us, even before the world was created. The fact that He still created it (and us) says a lot about His love, I think.

There is a reason why you cannot win against each other. You just can't. No conclusion will be met, so long as there exists the dichotomy of empiricism and rationalism. Both are valid forms of reasoning, though I can see how one can get caught up in the argument for supremacy over the other.

Quite aptly describes the love I just referred to in my post above; Though Jesus was God, He loved us so much that He came to earth like one of us - feeling our feelings, hurting our hurts - just to save us, who had rejected God from the beginning of time. I think that's incredible.

A bunch of people asked for evidence of God, so here it is. Both Christians and atheists should watch it... whether you believe it or not is another story. You might find him crazy, but the fact that he won a divorce trial without a lawyer in 777 days, just as God promised him, speaks for itself... as well as the rest of the things in the video.

Talking of homosexuality is evil, you think it's evil just cus some random guy (who allegedly existed in 10000 H.E., allegedly claimed himself to be god's son and allegedly got killed even though he allegedly was god's son) allegedly said that.
TBH, Hinduism and Buddhism sound more upstanding and decent than abrahamic religions. They promote harmony, gender equality, accept homosexuality and you aren't even forced to accept them (ref: inquisition, crusades and jihad).

They aren't impossible rules. We sin at least once every day. But Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross for mine, yours, and every believers sins. And that right there is the ultimate sacrifice. Every single man would go to hell if you sinned once, with the exception of Jesus. But, Jesus died for our sins and took the place of our sins. All the sins of the world were upon Him which made God, His Father, look away from Him.

God is knocking in a way on everyone's heart waiting for the person to accept Him. When, or if, the person does, the person will be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Being a Chistian does not make your life better or more easier. It means you have God in your heart and are going to Heaven.

@Viking: I think having God in your heart and knowing you are going to Heaven would make anybody's life substantially easier. But that's the point. Religion is there to make sure that the poor and the downtrodden continue to endure their hardships to the benefit of the elite. Look at the UK, the Queen is the head of the Church of England. Her son (Andrew) fucks little girls, and yet no one, not the police, not politicians, not even people like you or me, are doing anything about it.
Religion inhibits progress, it exists to keep the uneducated in line. Good comes from this I don't doubt it, but organised religion exists to encourage people, who it is essential always to deceive.
The Church offers rites of passage into the Heaven, through notes of confession (as I understand it you must confess if you want to go to Heaven), which are payable to the bearer only after death of course. Stop presenting unverifiable 'evidence' as conclusive evidence.

@Marcus Easier? Watch the video in my last comment and tell me if that guy's life was easier than making lots of money in sales. Jesus Himself said that it's hard for the elite to get to heaven... just because they claim to be Christians, doesn't mean they are... their life demonstrates whether they are or not. Not sure about anyone else here, but I'm Protestant, not Catholic or Anglican... we don't need a church to be saved. When you look at the state of the so called church today, I'm glad we don't.

@Viking God isn't knocking at the door of unbelievers' hearts. In context, that verse is speaking to lukewarm believers. Christianity isn't a list of rules. Sin is falling short of the glory of God, not just doing something bad.

FYI: Atheism/Agnosticism increased from 0.2% in 1910 to 12.5% in 2010, meanwhile christianity saw a decline from 35% to 32% + founding fathers hated your religion and bullcrap.

Your arguments aren't even close to convincing either. Look up the youtube channel InspiringPhilosophy to explain how Christianity isn't pagan. Derek Prince, a former atheist philosophy professor at Cambridge University converted to Christianity after reading through the bible (just because it was an influential book) when he was stationed in the Middle East during WWII... "any sane mind reading it thoroughly would be an atheist."
I guess Islam is true then under your logic, since it's the fastest growing (breeding) religion. Christianity is rapidly growing in Asia and Africa, while declining in Europe and North America, because the so called church is dying here.
Edit: To clear up any possible confusion with my statement "the so called church is dying here", I mean because of people chasing after wealth (including prosperity preachers), the lack of repentance (making excuses for willingly continuing to live a sinful lifestyle), the lack of biblical preaching and knowledge of the bible, and pursuing signs and wonders over the power of the Holy Spirit.
