What do you guys make of it? Thankfully it seems the Cathedral itself survived the fire.

I was more worried about that tree of my neighbour once catching fire. Atleast trees produce oxygen for me.

I can think of far worse things catching fire than a medieval Cathedral. I know it's a part of France's history and all that, and I wouldn't be too chuffed if the Tower of London or anything caught fire, but like Cata said, at least trees produce oxygen. I'd far rather a historic building burn down than Golitha Falls, my local Woodland.

I think it is a absolute tragedy. A historic landmark so horribly damaged is just awful to think about.

The building took nearly two centuries to complete and cost millions of dollar annually just for upkeep. The spire and roof of the building obviously suffered extensive damage, and a couple statues were burnt to ashes. Apparently a few billionaires have already donated $700 million to help with fundraising, and while that's nice and all, I honestly wish they could also donate some of their obscene amounts of wealth to the nation's 9 million impoverished citizens.

A tree gives you oxygen, but the house of God gives people life. Truly, the church is a hospital for sinners.

I never visited it. This is kinda sad. Hopefully it will be restored and not totally remade.
