You will feel satiated longer, since your body is consuming mostly fat and protein so you can consume fewer calories without suffering from hunger pains, and the diet can help you control your cravings.
Don't get me wrong, I agree that calories have a far more significant effect on weight loss than carb intake as a whole, but reduced carb intake definitely speeds up weight loss to an extent. You will lose weight both more easily and more efficiently.
