If you had your own child, would you feel more inclined to give him or her a common name, or a unique name?

Common, but not too common.
Also, how would I have a child? I'm almost certainly not having a biological child, and I doubt adoption is available for someone with a criminal record.

Don't care if its common or not so long as its a white name. I'd name my kids something like Scott, Mike, Dave, Jim, Karl, Ron etc. Now if I wuz a nookuh I'd name mah boiz sum shiet like Lamarquise doqapoinz teh thurd or J J or ray ray or something, fo a nigga bitch I'd use lashesha or karkeysha or tarbabesha

I would call him Sth unique. Sth like „Ladies and gentlemen „. That name would make my son the center of attention in the Beginning of every speech or toast.

Names are very limited though. We can't name the child Wojciech because people have to actually be able to pronounce it. So we have to keep it within the cultural sphere of the culture that we want the raise this child and yet we don't want a bland sounding name.

No for real i will not change my preferences because a name is common. It is common because many people realize it is a good name after all. ;)

It means your kid will have to informally change his name himself or else be confused and mixed up often.

For that second or third forenames are for. ;)

My name is the most popular name for the year I was born and while it was confusing, you get used to it.

Assuming I don't transition first, I will be one of five people in the classs with my name.
