You really should! also if Karl is still around I'd love to watch his analysis of Westerns. I tried getting into the genre ('cause of him on Discord) and I didn't really get it, so I'd probably enjoy seeing it from his perspective.

i mean it'd be cool to have even the most bare-bones channel somewhere where Karl explains why Duck, You Sucker! is so interesting (idk) to him

There's already some reviews and stuff out there for Westerns (e.g., https://nerdist.com/schlock-awe-duck-you-sucker/) but I'm 99% sure what Karl has to say would be different (and more worthwhile) than that article. I'm tired of these vegan blogs and clickbaity reviews and the highbrow "everything is art even if it's not" i-have-a-masters-degree-and-yet-my-career-relies-on-patreon-donors shit you get from Lindsay Ellis and the Nerdwriter1 and all those other popular meta-media channels on YouTube. So if you (or Karl) could maybe just point me to something not really really really lame for Westerns, I'd appreciate it- or better yet if you could just actually create that sort of content.

Sturgeon's Law (90% of everything is shit) is a huge underestimate when it comes to review channels, imo. So go change that.

Sounds like you want Karl to make a literary channel. I do too. But make no mistake we might have similar ideas but the presentations would be markedly different.

glad ye want my opinions knyte. I'll tell ye what I like about a few different films.

Django (1966, not nigra unchained): Its a film ye have to watch a couple times to understand unless ye pay close attention, because the characters motivation is never stated outright. Django went off to fight for the union in the war and a confederate major kills Djangos' Mexican wife after the war ends because hes racist. DJango hellbent on revenge comes to kill the major and his gang of former confederates. Thats the setup, very interesting tale, cool clothes, good music and very tense. Not as tragic as a lot of the other westerns, its hard to explain but I find the cold traumatized western anti-heroes relatable.

Day of Anger: Hands down my favorite western and one of my very favorite films. Tragic tale about a youth who is morally corrupted by an old gunslinger. Made me get star wars vibes as I watched it (Lucas probably borrowed from this film in particular, just watch it you'll see what I mean). Its just such a sad tale, the streetsweeping son of a prostitute who abandoned him is mistreated by the townsfolk and gets manipulated by a charismatic gunslinger. His entire life falls apart, his father figure is gunned down, he has to kill his mentor/second father figure, just a truly tragic tale.

The Grand Duel: About a man wrongly accused of killing a very wealthy and influential crime family head. He is then tracked down and protected by a sheriff who intends to bring him in alive.

Get Mean: Just a badass movie about a greedy everyman. Hes fighting vikings and moors in 1800s Spain, what can I say.

Isn't that the point? I'd like more presentation styles out there in the world of review channels. It's all gotten so boring. So it'd be cool to have either or both of you + Karl start creating content within that space and see if I we could maybe get just one more channel out there that doesn't suck but also isn't repetitive.

+1 Karl/Wednesday. Thanks.

Zardoz: Would write out a full length review but theres so much to cover it'd take all day and as I do this in my leisure time I won't be bothered to write out a long review. Zardoz has a simple plot but highlights the key problems with civilized man, issues such as materialism, feminization of men, apathy etc. The effects are quite impressive considering they're all practical effects. Very nice locations, great set design, the score is great, the sounds are nice. Overall just a great film.

mine would probably be like a high school tier presentation with a cringey meta plot that nobody cares about (think nostalgia critic)
