Deadman and Beren are stepping down from running CL. We have some options.

(1) Either we can scrap CL 10 and some new people can run CL 11 starting soon

(2) Some member(s) of the community can support (financially and coding) of CLOT and complete CL 10 this way

(3) Individual games can be created to finish the rest of CL 10.

Jz, -B, Platinum, krunx and some others are having discussions as what to do. As part of a request from Platinum, i have removed the poll that i had here.

I also, take this as an opportunity to thank Deadman and Beren for running this for all this time, patiently handling troublemakers (like me) and taking their time from busy RL to run this, coping up with all the complaints, making it more and more professional.

I'm not on CL discord threads but think (hope!) I speak for a maybe more silent majority when saying THANKS to Deadman and Beren for putting in the efforts over the years. CL is great and arguably essential for the strategic community.

Without knowing specifics I'd like to point out to those complaining:
1) accept that the organisers volunteer and set things up and make decisions as good as they can.
2) if you see points for improvement, then think solution-oriented, volunteer yourself, and help them.
3) if you disagree with point 1 and don't manage point 2, then don't join CL out of principle

+1 to what PJ said (in particular thanks for running the league so far)

I'm not on discord or any other messaging streams and missed all the drama, if there was any; from my perspective my division runs smoothly and I'm happy the event is happening. I also followed other divisions in the forum and everything seems to be running as expected, so even if there are isolated incidents not handled in the best possible way I don't see why that is (such) a big deal. Breaking the rules/cheating is not a good thing to have around, but even if that is sometimes happening the event is still fun overall, and I think most people agree that at the end of the day CL9 results are representative of the relative clan strengths.

(as a side note, if CLOT code is made open source (or alike) more people may be able to run their own leagues - since hosting is much simpler than coding from scratch - which I think may be beneficial to the community)

Update #6 - July 6th, 2018

Subbing in for a dropped out comrade starts to be a bad habit.. In this specific case, I’ll ask for the crowd indulgence if I take undue liberties with (grammatical) rules.

1v1 French Brawl (finished ) - Winner : Kezzo

Because the order in the CLOT site will not please Kezzo, I cannot just copy-paste a screenshot but have to carry out that thankless formatting task. I don’t want to start yet another drama on Discord !

(5-1) Outlaws - Kezzo
(5-1) ONE! - Beren
(4-2) [Lynx] - Wini
(3-3) VS - Nackickwind
(2-4) M'Hunters - Rogue NK
(2-4) MASTER Clan - Pardon99
(0-6) |GG| - Mikaela

Kezzo and Beren tie with a final standing of 5 wins. But Beren’s only defeat was against Kezzo, who tricked him in a clever triple-border trap. Congratulations to Kezzo who is the first tournament winner this season !

Games finished since last update :

Wini (Lynx) defeats Nackickwind (VS)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15642513
Nack completely misses the FTB in Auvergne and is compelled to acknowledge the game is over on turn 2..

Beren (ONE!) defeats Rogue NK (MH)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15710499
Beren’s safe cluster in Normandy and Picardie allows him to harvest enough resources early to quietly ravage the south afterwards; demonstrating that the 911 gift by Charles le simple to Rollo could have had much more dramatic consequences for the Carolingians (ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rollo)

Wini (Lynx) defeats Rogue NK (MH)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15777970
Wini gets yet another +2 FTB and forces Rogue to surrenboot before turn 2.

Nackickwind (VS) defeats Rogue NK (MH)
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=15573128
Nack gets a small early advantage by taking Limousin, a region where there are more cows than inhabitants. Taking advantage from Rogue decision to allocate resources to complete Bretagne, he then cleans the North and eventually manages to break his opponent bonus later in the game.

Kezzo (Outlaws) defeats Nackickwind (VS)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15710500
The board is pretty balanced after picks so you shall expect one of these interesting FB guess games that are decided on small details. It turns out Kezzo is more lucky, sorry, stronk, at this game, and scrounges a small advantage thanks to inefficient taps from Nack; and maybe a too conservative gameplay that doesn’t allow the latter to clean the east, nor to take a sustainable position in Limousin (a region so deprived that in French, when you’re dismissed from a job, you’re literary sent there - limogé)

Nackickwind (VS) defeats Mikaela (GG)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15777971
The game is pretty balanced after turn 1, where both players got a FTB. Mikaela might even had a small positional advantage with a double border on Limousin, but makes a small overexpansion mistake, allowing Nack to break Picardie while holding Limousin (a region where most of the immigrants are British pensioners fleeing the consequences of Brexit - also probably attracted by the chilliness of prehistoric caves).

Beren (ONE!) defeats Pardon (Masters)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15777969
The game is balanced until turn 5, with even incomes and maybe a small positional advantage for Pardon. But Beren makes the good prediction at the good time, wiping Pardon out of Franche-Comté, and getting more space for expansion. He then just has to control his advantage in a game where Limousin surprisingly played only a minor role.

1v1 Guiroma (finished) Winner : Mister T

(5-1) |GG| - MisterT
(5-1) [Lynx] - QuickSilver
(4-2) MASTER Clan - Master of desaster
(3-3) M'Hunters - Emu Pub
(2-4) Outlaws - Krzyzstof
(1-5) ONE! - Ipsimus
(1-5) VS - INSIDE

In this tournament also, two players are tied with 5-1, and the CLOT site standings are of course rigged. Thanks to his victory over Quicksilver, MisterT claims the title of Roman Imperator. Congratulations to him.

Games finished since last update

Quicksilver (Lynx) defeats Krzysztof (Outlaws)
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=15389363
Quicksilver cleverly turns a long term counter in Illyricum into an efficient combo and gets that strong bonus on turn 2. To break it, Krzysztof has to loose his pressure on the other areas, but eventually comes out of turn 7 with an 9-6 income advantage. Turn 8 is decisive with a bad guess by Krzystof who choose not to defend in Arabia, letting Quicksilver turn the situation around by grabbing another bonus and breaking one. With 10-7 in his favour, Quicksilver can play conservatively to win that interesting game.

MisterT (|GG|) defeats Quicksilver (Lynx)
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=15594917
This time, Quicksilver neglects Illy, and lets MisterT combo there. Both players raise their stack around Creta without attacking, while MisterT has the leisure to sneak a path towards Quicksilver’s bonus. The latter stacks just once too much in Creta while MisterT aggressively attacks and breaks Ponticia. Then there is nothing much Quicksilver can do, apart from unsuccessfully hammering Creta until exhaustion.

MisterT (|GG|) defeats INSIDE (VS)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15730341
A 17(!)-turn-long game, where MisterT’s first pick alone in the east will allow him to safely expand and resist INSIDE assaults. The early game sees an income advantage for INSIDE, but having no intel on 3 of his opponent’s pick doesn’t allow him to fully benefit from this situation. A turning point in the game might be the order priority for MisterT on turn 9 that prevents INSIDE from putting a foot in the strategic Creta. Had the odds be the other way around, maybe the game would not have gone to the same player. A last good prediction on turn 14, and MisterT can rely on his income advantage to get yet another victory on this template.

Master of desaster (Masters) defeats Ipsimus (ONE!)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15730339
Ipsimus’s 4-5-6 counter attempt around Africa doesn’t give the expected result, with 2 picks there vs. 1 for MoD. He still manages to clean the area, but his expansion options are limited and MoD can complete two big bonus to come out from turn 4 with even income, but a positional advantage (double-double border). Nox can’t really do anything, it’s over.

Quicksilver (Lynx) defeats Master of desaster (Masters)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15662514
An intense game between two of the tournament favourites. Quicksilver spreads his picks among the big bonus, while MoD opts for quicker income. But when the first clash happens on turn 4, MoD is in the middle of a costly expansion in Hispania, and Quicksilver has completed Illy. The latter plays a safe gambit, losing Illy but completing Egypt while keeping a stack in the double-border of Macedonia, and the fight can start ! It will last 8 more turns, during which bonus are broken and retaken, but Quicksilver expands more aggressively while making sure to keep MoD under pressure.

Master of desaster (Masters) defeats INSIDE (VS)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15798089
Another long game, but after picks, I would have put a few coins on INSIDE win, since MoD’s picks were clustered around Spain and Africa, while INSIDE had more expansion opportunities. But despite knowing his opponent was just around the corner, INSIDE chose to complete Northern Italy, and let himself trapped by MoD enjoying his early income advantage. MoD keeps pressuring his opponent in Gaul, preventing him to expand elsewhere until he eventually manages to clear the area. It is not over but while MoD rushes to meet his opponent, INSIDE prefers to complete a few more bonus. When MoD knocks on the door, he is still below in income. MoD gathers all his men in Tarentum and cross the Adriatic sea and INSIDE has to surrender.

QuickSilver (Lynx) defeats Emu Pub (MH)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15730340
The early game until turn 6 is balanced, with Emu Pub having a small income advantage after having broken Quick’s bonus in Illy. He has a useless stack in Creta though, and is threatened to be wiped out from the east and under pressure in Gaul. So letting Quicksilver cross the Pyreneans might be the only solution, but then having a stack in the middle of his bonus is never a good thing. Two turns later and with the help of perfect delay management, Quicksilver has finished messing around with Emu’s bonus, who is too far behind to continue playing.

MisterT(GG) defeats Krzysztof (Outlaws)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15662515
A 18-turn-long game, where incomes remain quasi even, and the fronts pretty stable, up until turn 15. Krzyzstof unexpected pick in Egypt is pretty efficient, but he lets MisterT break the bonus and get himself cornered until MisterT feels safe enough to expand in Ponticia and get a decisive advantage.

Krzysztof (Outlaws) defeats Ipsimus (ONE!)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15798091
I start to think Krzysztof specialty is to sneak quietly into Egypt and show up unexpectedly with this big bonus and a double-border on Arabia. This works better this time, since he has laid low in Spain while expanding, and Ipsimus has exhausted himself in the Iberian Peninsula

Emu Pub (MH) defeats MisterT(GG)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15798090
After picks, Emu Pub is alone in the West, but has a pick close to MisterT’s ones in the east. In spite of a mistake on turn 7, where he blockades Byzantium allowing MisterT to expand in Ponticia, Emu just had to quietly complete his bonus in Gaul and Hispania, and at 33 vs 23 of income, MisterT decides to surrender.

1v1 Elitist Africa

Current standings

The last ongoing game between Masters and M’Hunters will decide the tournament winner : if MoD wins, he also brings the tournament back at home. If he loses, Juan gets the tournament thanks to his win in the face-to-face against MoD.

Games finished since last update :

Cluster (MH) defeats Carlos (Outlaws)
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=15546764
A first pick which is crucial and goes to Cluster allows him to efficiently combo and get an early income advantage. Carlos has to invest elsewhere to catch-up on income but Cluster keeps his advance through hard pressure and one of those pernicious gift cherished by INSS fans (turn 4). Carlos fails to break a double-border on a highland bonus that might have allowed him to keep some hope, but he is behind in income and has less armies on the board, so he eventually opts for a stylish surrenboot on turn 7.

Bonsai (Outlaws) boots against Private Pabse (VS)
Bonsai (Outlaws) boots against Juan (Lynx)
Bonsai (Outlaws) boots against MoD (Masters)

Cluster (MH) defeats Muli (ONE!)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15683751
With 10 starting spots in the East, you might expect a nice brawl. And in a brawl, especially when negative incomes are involved, every small income or army advantage is decisive. Muli hopes to surprise his opponent by challenging a Jungle and Swap bonus, but the outcome is disappointing with an income table slightly at Cluster’s advantage (7vs6). Muli is obliged to invest a bit in the north to prevent the completion of an exceptional land and is found trapped with a single territory in the Jungle (leading to an income penalty of -4 to his opponent). From there the game is basically over and Cluster can just work on conservatively managing his risks.

Fireice (GG) defeats Juan (Lynx)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15683753
Both players have the same 8 first picks but Juan prioritises a combo in the north which requires some deployment, and Fireice luckily inherited from a nice (although known) counter in High Plateau. After turn 1, Fireice is +12 and Juan behind with +8. The latter makes use all of his knowledge (attack of an island, sneaky gift in an arid grassland) to catch-up on income, but Fireice can easily use of his positional advantage to break a highland bonus (turn 7). Juan forgets (?) to blockade a territory providing a negative income and the deadly blow comes from Zanzibar, an island in the east with a nice final counter by Fireice.

Muli ( ONE!) defeats Juan (Lynx)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15817197
A really nice RT fight to watch between the speedy Swiss and the Marcelo Bielsa of Warzone. Juan opts for a surprising combo in the Lybian desert that is not rewarding in the short run but gives him an access to the fertile northern coasts. However, for now he has to deal with a brawl in the jungles of Cameroun, where Muli manages to hold him for several turns. Then from turn 6 on, the games switches to a race to expansion and Muli comes out of it with enough income and an advantageous position, which compels Juan to surrender.

Master of Desaster (Masters) defeats Fireice (GG)
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=15546762
Another pretty long and enjoyable game. After picks, Fireice inherits from 3 nice combos but MoD has a better coverage. No surprise the latter takes a step back to avoid any early fight and work on his broader expansion opportunities. When the second assault is coming (turn 4), incomes are even (22 v 21) but Fireice has a bigger stack and MoD realise he is not ready yet and strategically retreats once again for 2 turns. On turn 8, two brawly fronts are open with equal income. In the intense fight that follows, MoD slowly grabs an advantage that becomes too big for Fireice to keep on.

Muli( ONE!) defeats Fireice (GG)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15751477
After picks, the board is remarkably balanced with both players in all the strategic areas. Fireice has a small edge after the first two turns but with a good guess, Muli manages to wipe him out from the rift valley lakes and then from east Africa. The fight is still intense until turn 12 and Fireice decides to stop playing RT. Maybe this is his mistake since it allows Muli to maximise his delays and progressively build up a stronger income advantage.

Carlos (Outlaws) defeats Fireice (GG)
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=15615220
A west vs east game that has nothing to do with the cold war. The first 4 turns are an expansion race and I doubt the players have really bothered counting. Had they, maybe Fireice could have guessed that he had a quicker expansion and could have chosen to open a front as soon as possible by crossing the Adamawa Plateau rather than expanding in the not so efficient southern Sahel. When he eventually does so, both players have 31 incomes and they meet around a chokepoint in Southern Chad. Cluster prefers to slip away in order to grab a small income advantage, but he lets the fox enter in the henhouse. Cluster mitigates the damages in his bonus fields thanks to a good delay management and wins the game when he eventually successfully takes over the strategic Adamawa Plateau.

Private Pabse (VS) defeats Cluster (MH)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15817198
When looking at the board after picks, I first naively thought Cluster had won that game. But Private Pabse makes splendid predictions and a good extra delay on turn 3 allows him to win the game by KO.

1v1 Battle Islands

Games finished since last update :

AI (MH) defeats Pardon (Masters)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15932842
In a pleasant game to watch, AI and Pardon both start with a combo and a pick next to each other. They quickly guess where the other is, and AI smartly blockades on turn 4 in the disputed area to release some pressure, gives up a threatened big bonus in order to expand where the grass is safer and moves around in order to surprise Pardon with a double-border close to a crucial (and big) bonus. Pardon heroically manages to defend this bonus for two turns (also making AI miss a card piece), but eventually the enemy gets in the middle of the room and the incomes become too unbalanced. The card piece advantage allows Pardon to balance the game one last time at 5 of income each, but AI eventually grabs back a bonus, and it’s over.

1v1 Strategic Greece

Games finished since last update :

Edge (Outlaws) defeats PJ (ONE!)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15873801
PJ has safe bonus in the west but being slightly behind on early income doesn’t allow him to do anything in the chokepoints around his opponent bonus. Then on turn 4, a bad prediction by PJ who stands instead of attacking in one of the rare gambles by Edge seals the fate of the game. Pj tries to move around Edge’s bonus for a few more turns but with no real opportunities of expansion, and Edge stays rock solid on his advantage.

1v1 Pangea Ultima

Games finished since last update :

Rento (Lynx) defeats Emu Pub (MH)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15891284
None of the players have intel at the beginning of the game. So Rento decides to complete his bonus one by one, from the safest to the more challengeable, waiting and seeing. Interestingly, he chooses not to use his reinforcement card on turn 2, saving it for the first clash. Because that means he has to take a 3v2, that’s a 20% risk to fail to complete a bonus on turn 2 ! But the WR gods are with him this time and the plan works as expected : when the enemy is at the door, that reinforcement card is useful to fight him off. Then I guess Rento uses his calculator to guess where his opponent is and offers himself a nice double-border. As the other fronts are stabilised, Emu Pub surrenders after another bonus is broken.

JV (GG) defeats Rocky (VS)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15891285
In this game, JV also decides to save the reinforcement card for the first fight : he knows when and where it will happen since he has interesting intel. Unfortunately, that extra income is not sufficient to break the double-border on turn 3, and he doesn’t dare to insist on turn 4, preferring to get more income but offering more room for threats by his opponents. On turn 5, JV wins the guess (and delay) game and Rocky has to subsequently try to quickly expand in other areas. After turn 10, both players have the same income, and Rocky threatens one of JV’s bonus with a double-border. But the latter decides to surprise his opponent by smashing a stack with the Order Priority card and clearing another region. Rocky realizes that there is nothing he can do to prevent his opponent to expand there, while his bonus are still under pressure.

2v2 Final Earth

Games finished since last update :

TheRiverStyxie and Njord (Outlaws) defeat Rocky and Vicnus (VS)
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=15560261
In this game, Njord and Styxie takes profit of a free South America to jointly put a hard pressure on Rocky who is quickly down to +5 income. In the meantime, Styxie’s guerilla in Asia prevents Vicnus to expand quickly enough and when he eventually gets rid of the british lady, Njord is already knocking on the door with a big stack.

Rogue NK and AI (MH) defeat TheRiverStyxie and Njord (Outlaws)
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=15389366
A hectic 20-turn-long game full of difficult guesses around the chokepoints. It would be too long to describe all the movements on the board, but after 10 turns of expansion and stabilisation of the fronts, the game becomes a mess with breaks everywhere and incomes going down (while remaining pretty balanced among the players). Outlaws eventually decide to surrender when Styxie face a triple threat by the two opponents around her only remaining bonus.

Suschel and PJ (ONE!) defeat Rogue NK and AI (MH)
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=15560260
That game must be painful to re-watch for M’Hunters : it is their on turn 6, with a safe control of South America and Australia, and a presence in the other hot areas. But Rogue NK forgets to set his alarm clock and Suschel and PJ are gifted a free turn against two AIs ! That’s enough to break South America and turn the game around.

Suschel and PJ (ONE!) defeat Deadman and Master Jz (Masters)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15730343
Maybe the upset of the tournament (or a definitive proof that only Beren is able to correctly puppet Deadman):
ONE! Players decide to let the obvious Greenland pick to their opponents, while waiting them around the corner in Scandinavia. And when PJ shows up there with stronger income, Deadman is well compelled to give up his precious bonus if he wants to be useful in the next steps of the game. In the meantime, Jz expands but is a bit annoyed by Suschel wasp movements in South America. And the masterpiece happens on turn 7, the famous ‘bachelor party move’ when Suschel uses the OD card to break Jz’s Argentinian bonus (expected) but also to blind counter her in West China with a final attack of 3. Brilliant. Or lucky. But brilliant.

2v2 Szeurope

Current standings

Games finished since last update :

Mike and JV (GG) defeat Memele and FiveStarGeneral (ONE!)
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=15375965
Combos and expansion at the beginning of the game, but FiveStar is quickly in two places at once with a big bonus to defend in Easter Balkans and a presence to keep in Russia. Of ONE! Presence in Russia there is none after turn 5 and the GG players can freely visit all the world cup stadiums while spreading fake news and messing around Central Europe. At the end, Russia is just too powerful for those young democracies.

Juan and 90 (Lynx) defeat JV and Mike (GG)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15710504
In this game, Lynx players pick like in a FFA with 90 cluster in the North and Juan’s one around Romania and Bulgaria. Both of them secure a safe bonus and quickly start exploring the surrounding to meet their opponents. In the meantime, GG have emphasised on building a strong income for Mike, notably in Czech Republic. But Czech Republic is a vulnerable bonus, and while both GG players have to invest to defend it against Juan wasp stings, 90 has all the leisure to clean the east and expand. From there, he just has to come down to the Lutsk corridor to receive homage from his opponents.

Current standings

Games finished since last update :

Steve1513 and Demhunt (VS) defeat Bonsai and aoc (Outlaws)
(Bonsai doesn’t join)

AG and Quicksilver (Lynx) defeat Bonsai and aoc (Outlaws)
(Bonsai doesn’t join)

AG and Quicksilver (Lynx) defeat EZPickens and Ko (GG)
https://www.warzone.com/multiplayer?GameID=15580809
EzPickens and Ko pick pretty late in the fertile south-eastern area (#6-7, and #11), and since those were picked as #1-2-3 by the Lynx team, they let it completely vacant. They still manage to clean early enough the far west from Lynx presence and on turn 6, they even have a small income advantage. But the Lynx guys put a small blockade where and when needed, and can quietly continue to harvest new lands while messing around in GG’s bonus..

Digital and Cluster (MH) defeat Ipsimus and FiveStarGeneral (ONE!)
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=15580807
After picks, FiveStar is chilling in the center and enjoys a quiet expansion in big bonus. If it is so quiet, it is also because Nox has to deal with the assaults of both MH players in the periphery. And when Nox eventually breaks, FiveStar is the next on the list and is quickly eaten like a jambon-beurre (that is a sandwich) by his opponents.

EZPickens and Ko (GG) fail to join in their game against Digital and Cluster (MH)

Current standings

Adreso, Muli and Malakkan (ONE!) defeat Bonsai, aoc and Edge (Outlaws)
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=15389371
After playing half a dozen games on this template, I still fail to understand the meta due to the sophistication introduced by the cards. If you lazily look at the board after 4 or 5 turns, you may feel that ONE! is in a strong position with all those nice bonus secured by Muli. Yeah, but Muli has been sanctioned once, and will be sanctioned once again in a few turns while Outlaws income and position are more balanced. So that 7th turn would have likely been the last one. But Bonsai booted and if you want to see the damages that an AI can do on this template, you should just play the step-by-step history of this last turn.

Linberson, awesomeusername and Mikaela (GG) defeat Bonsai, aoc and Edge (Outlaws)
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=15560265
Bonsai boots on picks, and if you don’t want an AI to play a turn on Biomes, you don’t want it to pick either. Outlaws gently play one turn to please their opponents, I guess.

Linberson, awesomeusername and Mikaela (GG) defeat Johnmd20, Vicnus and Jef(VS)
https://www.warzone.com/MultiPlayer?GameID=15730349
Many nice combos on this board and both teams gets out of the picking stage with enough income to make the next turns interesting. But GG’s team is better positioned to launch joined attacks on John and the issue for VS is that only Vicnus can expand. You’d guessed it, he gets sanctioned and GG can comfortably resist his assaults while keeping on the coordinated destruction of his teammates. Mikaela steamrolls north America while his teammates clean the South. Good game GG.

Mike, MisterT and Po1onus (GG) defeat blobblob, Melethron and AI (MH)
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=15540380
I’m unfortunately unable to analyse a 12-turn-long Europe game, but it seems GG players clean the center, then clean Russia while holding a foot in the islands. From this point the two last turns are just to make the pleasure last.

Two FTB and a total control of the center give the edge to M’Hunters players. And although VS manages to expand efficiently in the periphery, there is always an opponent not far away to mess up (and in this case, often complete) their bonus.

Odin, Kezzo and Platinum (Outlaws) defeat ZeroBlindDragon, Dom365 and Octane (Lynx)

I am a bit exhausted by all those games reviews so I’ll ask Kezzo or Platinum to seize this opportunity to brag a bit about that beautiful victory. However, just moving the history slider around, I appreciated Odin’s travel from Belgium down to Andalusia facing no traffic jam on his way. I hope to be as lucky in August !

Current division standings :

So, if you’ve followed everything carefully, you may notice that CLA increasingly looks like most of the european national football leagues, with :

  • Two monsters at the top : a bigger budget, a skilled, homogeneous and deeper squad, Lynx and Masters can stop looking at the rear-view mirror and focus on their face-to-face, while making sure to avoid losing too many points against lower teams (with all due respects Kezzo and Suschel ;)
  • A competitive mid-table with three clans, which fight for a single place on the podium and must also be careful not to slip in the relegation zone.
  • An unlucky challenger who will try hard to set one of its famous come-back; nobody would really be surprised to see them 3rd again at the end of the season.
  • And a newcomer that thinks that, after appropriate consideration, div B might well be the real cool guys division.

Amazing update! Thank you.

Just a small mistake, In the French Brawl update, you have Juan when it should be Wini.

@ Platinum : indeed. Since last Saturday and that nice football game, I wish everyone was Argentinian ! My apologies to Juan and Wini ;)

@Min : I corrected the mistake as well. I dread VS remain last though..
