Because I'm bored and I have nothing else to do:

https://youtu.be/-R4h2GrZsok

The first (maybe) speedrun of the Tutorial, there's 0.7s to be saved in Turn 5, due to a misclick, and I didn't try to use any hotkeys to switch phase so there may be another 0.5s there.

EDIT: There's also hesitation on all the clicks so that could take ~ 2s off.

This is so dumb...

I am going to try and beat it :P

You did it in flash, but I Unity is kinda the current version? Thru, due to browser lag that might be unfair if I could use standalone. Hm, speed-run for the tutorial, what rules do we want? Will tool-assisted be accepted (autocliker)

EDIT: You don't have to capture Africa. I did it in 38 seconds (unity), on my first try. (Wheras, OP's real time (no Africa) is ~32-32 seconds

Hmm I think speed runs on the further along levels would be more interesting.

I could probably do pretty well at a tutorial speedrun though, since I've had to run through it hundreds of times for testing so I've had a lot of practice.

I also recommend using the Unity version since it's the future. Flash is a dying platform.

Timing starts once the map is visible, timing stops when you press skip to end after making your last move. There's very little lag once the page is loaded.

What's the link to the Unity launcher?

on turn-based strategy I personally don't see the point of just turning it into a death-by-one-misclick traditional speedrun, but instead strategic speedruns where you minimise the turns taken. But you do you, I guess. It would be nice tho if someone made a video for each SP level on how they got the minimal turns on it.

In guessing you haven't seen the SMB1 runs then, that really is 1 misclick and you lose the record.

I'm sure Fizzer got the star score fire each map, but I suspect it is possible to do better on the later ones.

@TBest, autoclicker would be banned, however mapping scroll wheel to left click could work.

And someone please tell me the next phase hotkey.

Flash is still considerably faster-loading, so I suppose if you're going for raw speed on shorter maps, Flash is the man.

Well, that is why we have gold stars right.

Why not from when you click play?

So, that kinda works the same? I have a scroll wheel, that i can just give a spin and it will spin for 30 seconds.

I suspect 60 min is an impossible time. I can't imagine an avg time across all the levels being low enough. {Ofc, anyone are free to prove me wrong}

Also, I am assuming autopilot is not allowed, cus that is by far the fastest way to complete any level, the AI can beat. Some levels have quite a significant luck factor to them as well. (auto dist :P)

Nice work! But we should get our terminology straight. That's the level named "Time to take a risk" aka "Level 1".

The tutorial is a different level, named "Tutorial" aka "Tutorial" and has step-by-step instructions. https://www.warzone.com/SinglePlayer?Level=21

I've had 1 of those in the past as well and scroll 20k on spreadsheets in 1 scroll or so, but you need also accuracy while clicking and that would be the harder part.

Just doing 1 level as a speedrun isn't really impressive i'd say, maybe you should start at the level after the tutorial and defeat the 1st boss or so and with this load times matter between the different scenario's. With that keeping up with who used what platform might be usefull then.
With this set of levels you have some levels a bot could play but also levels in where you can't let a bot play due to the fact it has manual distribution so it's different every time and that way you can show your skill in how fast you can end that level. Together with the final boss it would be the run killers then looking at it quickly.

Can confirm, 20 k in 1 scroll is so nice :) The mouse I have has a 'lock' button for the wheel, so I can have it in "free-spin" mode, or have it be really accurate. It's quite an expensive mouse (so put it on your wishlist for a-soon-event? since that is how I got it :P )

My bad indeed, that was not the tutorial.

I was fiddling around for a bit and recorded a part of the singleplayer. It's most definitely not optimal and my recording software cut out mid-level 8, but here is level 1-7 done in 25 minutes and 1 second:
https://youtu.be/pWNkwkl5e4c
I think some general optimizations to get better times are:
- Map your scrollwheel to Left Click to deploy fast
- Become a member and download the client so you can:
- Set the AntiAliasing to 0
- Set the time scale to 2
- Set the FPS to 60
(Debug menu on the unity client is CTRL+Shift+E)

Anyways, interested to see someone beating this so we can figure out some rules, categories etc. Cause level 1-7 is pretty arbitrary

@Master Farah I find LiveSplit (the splitting software I use) works best with GeForce Experience, so if you have an Nvidia GPU I suggest you use that instead.

Setting the framerate higher in the debug menu combined with a good mousewheel can give some insanely fast deploys: https://youtu.be/TGYGQfFoPFQ

I would say definitely no AIs or Auto-pilot. If you really want to use them then we could set a tool assist category I would suggest.

Rules:
Runs can be completed on any Vanilla version of WarZone (Unity)/WarLight (Flash).
All runs must be timed using a credible splitting software so we don't have to use a stopwatch on a slowed down YouTube video.
The use of the auto-pilot setting or other automation software is not valid on any run.
