My old account I lost my password to was a lvl 40 so I'm not a complete noob. Most of my wins are on Risk style games, though. Working on getting better at starting picks right now and can manage 1v1 wins on occasion. Since joining the 1v1 ladder I'm 2/3 but have a loss incoming.

A better way to go about this would be to not limit potential ladder partners to a specific gender and age range. There are a lot of perfectly nice people in this game who have a lot of experience and knowledge to pass on who would be happy to work with players looking to improve.
