i played this today aand surrendered immediately, yet i don't feel bad and i feel like no one should be allowed to get away with abandoning a team game for trivial reasons, however the consequences of doing so are negligible.
i think repeated game abandonment should be punished harder than just being blacklisted by some nobodys,
Because every new account is by default in no one's blacklist
maybe a BAN of 5 mins for 1st offence of the day,and BAN of 2 hour for 2nd offence and so on...
and this BAN time can be reset once every 24 hours

this would affect most those who buff up their stats by placing alts in the enemy teams and surrendering on turn 1...or playing bad on purpose with alts in order to make their main accounts win

Ohh, now you want Fizzer to tell people how to play their game?
I agree that the issue adressed is annoying, but banning people based on how they play is against my freedom of speech!
Statist confirmed!

Well, you surrendered and you're asking for severe punishment!

Coming to the point, well-if some players are non-co-operative and play as they wish or play like FFA, it is better to surrender, than playing and losing. Team games aren't filled with friends / good players and it is totally random, no one knows who joins-so can't really put a BAN for such reasons.

May if they talk with enemy team and wantedly surrender or play bad, then it can be traced(if possible) and Banned.

Nobody should be forced to play a game they don't want to play, so punishing someone over leaving is pretty harmful. What if you didn't notice a messed up setting/mod, or whoever is in your team is just flaming uncontrollably...?

An AI is playing better then most players, they should just have continued the game and enjoy the challenge.

Hold yourself to the standard that you would want others to play. IE don't just bail out of an auto game you choose to join because you don't like your spawns. It's a piss poor way to be, it blue falcons your teammates, wastes everyone's time, and there's really no reason for it. Same with boot rushing, same with attacking buddies, same with intentionally announcing positions in main chat. It's a game. If you choose to join it, you should give it your best. If you have to leave emergently/truly despise the scenario, let people know, VTE, and then eat the boot when it comes along. That's the price. It's what the boot rate is for.

As for repercussions, Fizzer cannot be expected to go game by game and check, and any automated system has more detriment than gain. Some people are obnoxious. Pre-requs help filter out alt spammers and folks who frequently join games and then back out. Blacklist players who don't play in an appropriate way and, if it's personal and egregious, let their clan members know (should they have one). The perk of blacklisting is, even as a complete nobody, I am pruning my own list. It'd make WL a better place to have all players put in a real effort, but at the end of the day I don't really care if gits want to play with other gits. I just want to avoid them in games that contain me.

+1 Zephyrum, and sometimes your team can be in all agreement in about losing, but someone has to capitulate first; or someone on your team can disagree while the other 2 agree, or someone can just troll.

I don't agree with Ryiro and I agree with Zephy.

The way I see it, Ryiro joined a game as a mistake. Mistakes deserve to be forgiven.

He expected something, there was little time left, and he didn't get what he was hoping to get. What good does it do to force yourself to spend 30+ minutes on a game you don't want to play? Better to vote to end and let the others play a new game - mistakes happen and should be forgiven.

Furthermore, what Ryiro did was negligible compared to the language used by the other players - particularly Alexandros.caesar who resorted to insults by calling Ryiro a moron. Insults are actually an offense in Warlight and break rule number one which is to show respect to players at all times. Mortis also called Ryiro a pussy.

The entire team B in this game acted disrespectful, clearly breaching rule number one and should be called out on it.

You can't even call it 'trivial reasons' when it was your fault it happened in the first place. If you are so particular about what settings games will have, you should probably read them yea?

I am guilty of doing the same thing recently but for a different reason. I can be immature, but should I be punished for it if I don't do it too often? I would say that it is better to forgive a player as long as they don't make it a re-occurring theme.
