Thanks for the update benoit!

It would be cool if it can be pointed out which games were very close and are the best, which teams in each tournament appear to be very strong and which appear not so strong compared to the predictions (based on the games they played so far), as well as some kind of overall team update as to how teams are doing (it is probably too early for a meaningful team update though).


EDIT - i also noticed that some wins were boot wins. it would also be nice to point out which were hard fought wins, which were wins on outplaying, which were wins on picks, which were wins on blunders and which were boot wins.

Considering the 3v3 Africa games the games with Mr. Dolphin in them (first 2 in list) were decided on boot from Mr. Dolphin.

The game between MT, drunken and Cluster and the team i'm on was decided i think due to some miscommunication on the enemy team and us putting drunken on exactly 0 income at the end of turn 3.

The game between team MT, drunken and Cluster against love, atom and john was decided by atom getting booted on turn 2 i think, dropping from 8 to 4 income they weren't able to recover from that loss.

Too lazy to go over 1v1 games for right now but that is what has been happening in 3v3 so far. I think our game against love, atom and john would a game to watch at least that is how i'm feeling it right now.

Thanks wakanarai! I think that if one person from each tournament comments like wakanarai did then all of us will be kept up to date and it should be awesome. I can volunteer to do this from slumlords (at least I will do the first post from slumlords).

There are two triangles

Triangle 1: (INSIDE, fortknoxville) -- (le Marseillais cj13) -- (USA Bitches, Kezzo)

These games are so far quite interesting to watch. I feel that (INSIDE and fortknoxville) have an advantage at the moment over (le Marseillais, cj13), who have an advantage at the moment over (USA Bitches, Kezzo), who have an advantage at the moment over (INSIDE, fortknoxville). I wont go into specifics since the games are still being played and i would not want commentary to influence the outcome of the games. I would not be surprised if this triangle ends up as 1 victory for each team. In my opinion all of the games here will be hard fought wins worthy of watching. None of the games are decided for sure yet imo, and i would be pleasantly intrigued if one team snatches a victory that i did not predict.

Triangle 2: (aoc, 90) -- (Super Smoove, Octane) -- (AI, johnmd)

Smoove is on vacation, so only picks have been completed, but my opinion is that (aoc, 90) and (AI, johnmd) both have pick advantages over (Super Smoove, Octane). The game (aoc, 90) vs (AI, johnmd) was completed and (aoc, 90) won. However, this was quite interesting since (AI, johnmd) probably had the advantage on picks. So this is certainly a game to watch. (AI, johnmd) are a solid team and should not be underestimated. They have potential to cause quite a few upsets to say the least and have potential to do way better than predicted.

2v2 Slumlords Lineup Rankings
1. Space Dolphins (INSIDE/Fort Knoxville) - I know they are prepping for this template, have INSIDE, and chemistry of being in the same clan.
2. Poop Squad (LeMarseillais/cj13) - Have you seen how high LeMarseillais's 2v2 rating is?
3. All Blacks (Usa biches/Kezzo) - Stronger 2 pair than space dolphins, but I rated them number 1 in the last template, so fuck it. Plus, IDK if they are prepping or not. I actually am too lazy to check it out, but I hear slumlords is an odd template that needs prep.
4. IRGUERS (90/aoc)- I considered putting them number 1. 90/Juan/AOC have a tendency to dominate every team competition they get into. No idea how they dropped to 4. This template has the best team competition.
5. Exploders (Smoove/Drizzy Drake) - I'M TRYING NOT TO BE A HOMER! I never considered them being ranked number 1, but this team can win it all. Smoove seemed very excited about slumlords, and I know he can beat anyone in mostly any game. Drizzy Drake is a solid number 2, and both being in FCC, they should have good chemistry.
6. Lovers (AI/JohnMD)- AI is good, but not good enough to carry the team. This is the only squad I can't see winning it all.

You can probably remove our team from the competition now since we have no chance of winning.

I really dislike boot losses and having tacky play here was a disaster.

dont be disheartened INSIDE, this is how MH felt after the first few weeks of last CL.. but there is still always hope if you fight the uphill battle hard enough :)

tacky is now on vacation so i guess he wont get booted in future games.

Just a small suggestion from my side:
I can't find any tournament links in this thread or the spreadsheet so i can't follow any of the tournament other then my own.

On a side note. The team i'm on just lost it's leader Aura Guardian cause of retirement and Zack Fair just said in our chat game he is thinking about retiring as well which would mean we instantly lose those points except for if they get recreated.

Waka, all the tournament are linked on the spreadsheet in the score table tab.

More importantly can you ask in that game chat who would be willing to join the Hannibal at the Gates tournament, and we'll also need someone to play 4 replacement games on British Raj. We'd prefer it if both subs are only in one tournament too.

Update on 3v3 Africa:

2 more games have finished

Cluster, Drunken and MT won against Inside, Private Pabse and Mr. Dolphin on who would have guessed it. A boot by Mr. Dolphin (turning in picks into Ai and getting 0 income on turn 1)

The other game that finished is the game between Xeno, Max and Phakh against Benoit, Bonsai and Patriot.
After 2 turns into this game team Xeno had the north fully safe by eliminating Benoit from the north while benoit was focussing in the south himself against Phakh who gifted his spot there to Max who had safe income in the north.

Even with that set back team Benoit managed to eliminate max from the south the turn after by double focussing on him but at that point Xeno already went to border them there so they had no time to breathe down there. In the mean time bonsai was gaining ground on Phakh and securing he wouldn't get broken around his own income. At this point both team had 25 income total and team Xeno had already used their gift card so not much they could do to try and get max back into the battle considering he is isolated in the northeast of the map with only deserts around him or the islands.

On turn 4 Xeno just deployed on the border with Benoit and started working towards Patriot who was in high plateau, kalahari desert and madagascar with Benoit only being in the eastern highlands. Together benoit and patriot would be 3 ahead in income after this turn. In the mean time Bonsai also was expending into the land Phakh once were in and into the mountains next to Xeno as well so all players from team Benoit would be bordering or close to bordering Xeno. In the mean time in the back of xeno max was slowly expending into mountains as well and blockaded the desert he took the turn before. Phakh wasn't really in the game any more at this point with only 3 income left.

The next turn team Benoit decided to fully focus on Xeno so Bonsai would be attacking Xeno while Benoit would try and go around the big stack from Xeno and patriot would finish High plateau and go to the side on the islands around Madagascar as well. In the mean time Max was already bordering Xeno on the front he had with Bonsai and fully deployed there to support his team mate succesfully. Most that Xeno would be doing this turn was delay all moves he was doing by deploying in the back and moving leftover around but in the end he would prevent Benoit from going around him, double border Patriot in the High plateau region and prevent Bonsai from breaking into his graslands while preventing him from taking the mountain area.

At this point team Benoit had 37 income combined and team Xeno just 31 income all together.

On turn 6 Xeno decided to mainly focus on breaking bonsai his High plateau region and possibly try to take some income away from benoit in the eastern highlands. Both if these were succesfull and he prevented Patriot even from breaking his East African Rif.
In the mean time up in the north Phakh has come back around to show up in another place around Bonsai his income and has positive income from the base himself again as well. Max would help xeno during this turn as well by supporting him in the border with Bonsai and he would be moving in to border Bonsai himself as well next to all the income from Bonsai. Bonsai would manage to take his territory in the mountain area back though.

Here the income has changed a bit to the point that botyh team had 34 income total but sadly team Benoit decided to surrender at this point.


In my opinion they weren't out of the game yet but it was looking pretty bad for them as a team. In the south they were playing 2v1 basically at this point but in the north they were 1v2 ofc or maybe you could even say 1v3.
It was a great game to check out though and seemed very close all the way through.


With these 2 games finished i'll be putting down how all teams so far are doing in this tournament.

2. Poop Squad (MT, Cluster, Drunken) 2-1
3. Exploders (Juan, Apollo, waka) 1-0

Amazing Analysis wakanarai! yeah that game was awesome :). I initially thought (looking at income) there was not sufficient cause for surrender, but if you see the out of position stacks and the well positioned enemy stacks you can understand why they did. Xeno's last turn was absolutely flawlessly perfect. However, if i was in their position, i probably would still have fought on for a few turns and make desperate moves to try and get a lucky win haha.

Notice: There is a mistake in the excel formula for number of games won.. for example, IRGEURS won 4 games but the excel sheet says 3.

1. IRGEURS are currently first with 37 points overall and 13 games played. The place where they got the most points so far is in the 2v2s. 90 and aoc on Slumlords are the mvp of that team so far with 4 wins on 4 games!

2. The Poop Squad are currently second with 31 points in 15 games. 10 points of their current 31 points came from their so far solid 3v3 team which includes Master Turtle, Drunken Master and Cluster.

3. All Blacks are currently third with 25 points in 14 games. They are almost perfect in 1v1 right now and undefeated so far in 3v3 but their 2v2 teams hurt them. They have 1 game up on the Poop Squad. Hopefully the replacements on their 2v2 teams will stabilize that aspect of their team.

4. SpaceDolphins, despite some unfortunate boot losses, do quite well with 24 points in 18 games. INSIDE and MIFRAN really help this team I think and the only reason their 3v3 team has 3 defeats in 3 games is because Mr. Dolphin got booted in all 3 games (and on his 1v1 games as well).

5. Exploders have currently the highest max points with 130, but they only completed 8 games so far for 20 points.

6. Army of Lovers are currently last with 6 points in 11 games played and a max points of 111. Plenty of games to go though.
