Belgian Gentlemen, actually Antarctica
From CoolAntarctica:
At this point there will be some much more contentious issues to be addressed:

Should it be allowed to drill for oil in Antarctic waters, or exploit other mineral wealth?

If it is, what environmental safeguards should there be?

Who do the oil / minerals belong to? (especially tricky one that)

Is the Antarctic Treaty sufficient to continue to govern and make decisions in these circumstances?

Will the countries who want the resources respect the Antarctic Treaty, or try to undermine it to get what they want for themselves?

The treaty is of course ignorable.
Also, don't forget territorial boundaries relating to colonization in the Americas, such as the Louisiana Territory

Here's something to consider for the Carribean:

Hi,wonderfull work btw,was looking through your map,i think there should be a connection between South Italy(Apulia) to Balkans, either to the dalmatian islands or split, seeing as there were quite a few connections as far back in the roman times up to the wwII when italy wanted to take the dalmatian coast.
Good Luck on your map

I'm not much of a diplo player, but I can respect someone who puts this much time and dedication into a map. I have 13 published maps and I didn't put the time into them all put together that you are spending on this one gorgeous map. You are truly a master at work. Also, the way that you are allowing and encouraging community feedback is pretty awesome too. Keep it up!

Hi doc ;)

Just now seeing this. I just have to say, this map is awesome! I have mixed feelings about the improvements, but that probably means I need to understand the reasons behind them more.

This map is very valuable to me. I am a big fan of local deployment, especially on 1 territory bonus maps and big maps so I was very happy to find this map. turns take a long time but the games are very enjoyable to me and apparently others too. This is how I use the map:
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=13389156
https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=11093687 (same thing but on the smaller map)

Issues and changes:

  • The gdp inaccuracy is offsetting but not a huge deal for me. Still would love to see how a more accurate map plays, that will change a lot.
  • My biggest pet peeve has been the bonus icons. I have no problem with them being numbers, it is just the way they are displayed (when you zoom in they are illegible). They are only like this in the Warlight Unity App but eventually all of warlight will be on that app. http://imgur.com/a/8cbnC
http://imgur.com/a/1heSO (not sure why img tags are not working)
I am not a mapmaker so I do not understand it but it is an issue and is likely to become more of an issue when more people switch to the app.
  • The 1-100 bonus value is very exciting, cant wait to see that as well.
  • The sea connections thing, this is very new and I don't understand its advantages. Will all other sea connections be removed? This seems like it will have a large effect on games.
  • Not too many problems with territories or connections, maybe either make Qatar slightly farther away from or connect to Al Klubar (is a little confusing).

Again, thank you for putting so much time into this map.

Can you use official Cencus regions of the US as bonuses?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_regions_of_the_United_States#/media/File:Census_Regions_and_Division_of_the_United_States.svg

New England, Middle Atlantic, South Atlantic, East South Central, West South Central, East North Central, West North Central, Mountain, Pacific.

Or use the US Federal regions: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_regions_of_the_United_States#/media/File:USFederalRegions.svg

Or the BEA regions: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_regions_of_the_United_States#/media/File:BEA_regions.png

Canada was done fine. Idk why America is so weird. The Census' regions are the most widely known and the closest comparison to Canada's territory.

Also I really want bonuses based on GDP.

If it's possible, I would like to see a few more editable bonuses for when people make scenarios with smaller regions, like more than 1 bonus for Mongolia, a large group of territories, only supplied by the -Mongolia- bonus

The Anime Women respectfully request that you add more detail to Japan. Failure to do so will result in severely restricted japanese animation exports for the next few decades.

thank you @Clint Eastwood, @Castle Bravo, @OnlyThePie, @Sergeant Hannibal, @Metsavend (Forest Brother), @Stewie, @lolgg , @Dr. Stupid, @kevin#1, @The Cruelest, @EQReport, @Genghis for your comments while I was away.

Personally,

@Sergeant Hannibal, thanks for the additional information, it is informative, but it wasn't needed. Besides I can't change much about the caribbean since I have a lack of space and splitting circles into halves isn't a good idea

@lolgg, yeah that would be a great suggestion and I'm in favor to add that historical connection. I think I've had the same connection in my European Nations map

@Dr. Stupid, thanks lad ;) you made my day. In case you're wondering it's 0:02 right now lol

@kevin#1, doctor is a charming way to adress a gentleman. Anyway I hope I'll fullfill your wish that the next version will be more accurate on gdp. Though the unity app is a hurdle, because it locates almost every number of my map somewhere else exactly as you pointed out with those images. But, uhmm yeah this new version shouldn't have these problems

@The Cruelest, USA has 10 only census areas. That's not enough. I want to have more editable bonusses than just 10. Having around 20 would be ideal.

@EQReport, that's definitely something I'll add in the future

@Genghis, I would like to do so, but I'm limited by the size of my map
please don't sanction me now papa ;(

Hi, really like the ideas here and it's nice of you to rework this map. As a new map maker, I was wondering how you can make your map so large? I have one with 80 territories and it is already over the limit. Does it have to do with simplifying the lines? Thanks!

it'll only be an update. The older version is incompatible with the new unity client

@Victor-y, thanks for the compliment and goodluck with your first mapmaking experience. If you mean increase size in Inkscape you have to go to Inkscape>Properties>increase size ( for which 3330 x 2400px should be the map size limit). A second possibile way of explanation is that you have images inside your svg that significantly contribute to the weight of your svg file. Try to remove those before you upload your file in the map designer.

@Ekroth, as of now, I'm having a really busy time until the 6th of August. It's ironic. I don't have school but I'm still at busier times, even if I have a whole period of vacation. I'm sorry that this project will have little progress
